Alabama is doing exactly what it needs to in this situation. Make the best offer possible to the best candidate.
Even if the deal does not work out, they have shown they are serious about their commitment and I would think that would be a huge plus for any prospective coach.

I just don't want this to happen because I don't want Gregg Marshall in the SEC. He is a good coach and South Carolina totally screwed up by not hiring him in 2008.

UPDATE #3 (2:35PM CST) - from one of our resident basketball insiders on BOL - offer is $4.1 for 6 years. Offer has not been accepted but is being seriously considered.

This cannot be true, because according to numerous Auburn and LSU posters and more than a few from Tennessee, we are a desperate dumpster-fire program that is only dreaming about hiring a quality coach. We will be lucky if Central's coach will take us on part-time as a project.

He's probably just using the situation to get more $ from WSU.
