its embarrassing that an LSU poster managed to derail it first, probably deserves to be banned for it.
Yup.
You are as harsh a critic of Miles' coaching skills as anyone but know better. I give you props.
I was going to post that I hoped the kid also got a call from Gus or Nick. Then I realized that would result in 10 replies about how Saban is a heartless soulless robot who eats little girls named Debbie.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I just came here to thank the OP for sharing a nice story about people caring about a child battling cancer.

That is awesome.

Thank you for keeping the perspective in the proper place.

Off the field Miles is a great person and a great face for LSU football. A thread about a teen fighting for his life isn't the place to nit pick x and o's of a coach. It's sad that some LSU posters and people like crisp can't sort real life from the football field.

Great story. My allergies started acting up when I was reading it though. Or, someone was cutting onions nearby.
Man. So tough for that kid.

I do want to give a major shout out to the folks of Mountain Brook for putting the purple and gold all over their community to show support for Sid. That is a huge gesture and shows that, while we love our teams and football in the South, we recognize that there are things that are more important.
I am not oblivious to how that might have been hard for folks from Alabama who love Alabama or Auburn to do - not that it was REALLY hard, but I am sure they had a smirk on their face while doing it.
Major respect for those people. What an incredibly kind gesture. Just one part of what makes the South great.

back in Mountain Brook this weekend visiting family.....driving through Crestline noticed all the LSU colors. Really great story and show of support.

It's really hard not to like Les Miles. From everything I've heard, he's very down-to-earth, relatable and just an overall great guy.
Each time LSU and Ole Miss play, he takes the time to talk with Freeze's daughters for 10 minutes before the game. When someone asked one of his daughters who her favorite coach was, she didn't say her dad, she said Miles

Damn it.
Between this story and "The Blind Side", you're killing my hate for Ole Miss.

We can all be civil from time to time. Don't worry, pank or AC will post something in another thread and remind you why you hated us in the first place

That's why I love the SEC.

The Rebel reaction to the passing of Martha Miles had me questioning my very existence

I dont need to take anything some where else.

The SEC would be one boring league without Les Miles. He doesn't get the praise as a person as much as Mark Richt does, but he has proven you can be a good person and still win big.

Les Miles is amazing. He is one of my favorite coaches ever. Too bad he has to coach corndogs.

Contrary to what some people believe, Nick Saban is the same way.
