NCAA has basically made it so that anyone that considers themselves a fan of a team in even the most casual sense can be construed as a booster.

The synopsis from Acey at Make It Rain is an interesting read:

As happens in an intense sports rivalry, there is a pack mentality. If the pack senses weakness they attack faster and from all directions.
The more Analesa re-coiled from the hate and vitriol, the more Mississippi State fans chased her down.
She described to me the endless direct messages, the endless twitter mentions, the endless blog post comments saying terribly sexual and hurtful things to a young girl. I saw them, it was and still is disgusting. Grown men should have more pride than to act that way.
A lot of us defended her. I defended her because I considered her one of my own. One of the Ole Miss flock. One of the “good” guys.

That's because it's highly likely he's one of the guys who operated that account.

Therefore every fan that has ever tweeted at, retweeted, etc a player or recruit is in violation of contacting players/croots

You think they could have just hired a model to do this and would have had a much better result.
I assume they were going for a cute girl to drum traffic to Make it Rain Sports.
Not sure why they cheaped out and spent all of that time on a twitter account.

The term he's looking for is "tribalism."

They also had her call in on 3 different occasions.

The retweeting, I don't think so. But messaging, tweeting at, PMing/DMing, etc. a recruit is a violation. Which is why so many schools send out notices or tweet fans requesting them not to contact recruits in any way.

It was fun having sports teams while it lasted. Looks like Ole Miss just #catfished itself into oblivion.
