LSU is banned from signing early enrollee recruits to financial aid agreements for the next two years, and the program will be stripped of 10 percent of its recruiting evaluation days in 2015, according to public records obtained by The Advocate.

The penalties, handed down by the Southeastern Conference and reported by the school on Feb. 3, stem from a violation that occurred this fall involving an unnamed recruit.

Every school has violations. Some large, some as small as buying a kid a can of coke.

But every school breaks SOME rule every year.

REC

So I'm not fully understanding. The kid signed a FAA which let LSU have more contact, but the kid backed out. What exactly did LSU do?

Hmmm. So if a kid signs a FAA with 2 schools and waits till signing day to commit then it likely guarantees that one school is going to get in trouble?

"The NCAA modified the financial aid agreement (FAA) in April. It continued to allowed schools “relaxed recruiting rules” for prospects who signed an financial aid agreement, but it also warned schools that they could be penalized for recruiting violations if that prospect did not eventually enroll in that school.

David Womack, Matt Womack’s father, told The Clarion-Ledger in the fall that LSU coaches were not planning to contact his son on an unlimited basis because Matt wasn’t completely firm on enrolling early or on his commitment to LSU.

“LSU is not using (the FAA) because if Matt was to change his mind they would have to report it,” David Womack told The Clarion-Ledger."

So Womack signs FAA papers and then says LSU decides not to contact him.

There is so much fail with that rule and that article

"David Womack, Matt Womack’s father, told The Clarion-Ledger in the fall that LSU coaches were not planning to contact his son on an unlimited basis because Matt wasn’t completely firm on enrolling early or on his commitment to LSU."

Then why is the assfrick signing a financial aid agreement? And why is LSU penalized because he can't make up his mind?

“LSU is not using (the FAA) because if Matt was to change his mind they would have to report it,” David Womack told The Clarion-Ledger."

Well we either are or we aren't, which is it?

Recruits like this should have to sit out a year if the school is going to get penalized. It's only fair.

Hogs got a warning from the NCAA last year when they signed CB Chris Murphy to a FAA. He enrolled early for spring ball and then transferred to Cincy in the summer.

This seems kind of shitty to me. He was "committed," he signed the Financial Aide and then HE flipped.

This is going to create a headache for the NCAA, they aren't going to enforce this evenly with every recruit. They don't have the manpower to investigate all of the possible flip violations. I would be surprised if these sanctions aren't overturned by the summer.
