This. Gus walked into a talent rich situation with prior knowledge of the program. Very different situations.

Gus Malzahn thing is once in a life time

The offensive talent at UF isn't even close to what Gus walked into at AU. Gus also had another major advantage that can't be understated - he recruited many of the guys on AU's roster to run his offense.

UF needs to run the spread again

quote:Yeah, Gus Malzahn benefited from already knowing the kids Auburn had due to him recruiting them on offense. He had to turn the program around by actually coaching and changing the culture on the team, but he had some pieces already in place (the players for his system). Jim McElwain will have the change the culture, coach and try to fit these players into his system.quote:This. Gus walked into a talent rich situation with prior knowledge of the program. Not to mention, McElwain is a very good offensive coach, but Malzahn is a genius offensive coach.

Malzahn is one of the best offensive minds in the game and he walked into a good situation with a stout offensive line.
McElwain should have a good defense behind him, but he's got too many question marks on offense especially the line, which can kill any team.

I hope SchmeckleWang fails miserably, goes 2-10, Gatorprincess overdoses on Sonic tater tots, causing her to shite herself to death in the center of Gainesville, which is a toilet anyway, causing the city to be quarantined for the next 50 years.
I'm not fond of UF, is what I'm trying to say here.

I predict Florida will return to prominence after they fire Jim McElwain in four years.
