Per @NBCdianna, #Louisville DC Todd Grantham is the favorite to fill the DC opening with the Oakland Raiders. @ITVHughes

Would be a good move for CTG. He's a good defensive coach. I think it's different when you have 8 hour days to teach players everything as opposed to the limited time you have with college players. I think he would do well in the NFL.

Sucks to suck, Cards.

Agree. Khalil Mack in his system would be frightening.

That's funny I was just thinking that it's suprising he was gonna stay at Louisville especially with all the in house fighting we heard about with bobby. Figured he would leave JHC high and dry. What's scary thinking is JHC in Pruitts system. What could have been

JHC could've been an AA under Pruitt. Wiggins could've excelled as well. All the talent, none of the maturity.
What Pruitt did last season with what he had to work was miraculous.

JHC should still be on Georgia's team. He never did anything that warranted being dismissed.
He'd be a hell of a coverage ILB under Pruitt, imo.

CTG is the modern day lane kiffin, a guy who continues to get good jobs for no real reason in particular. At least Kiffin had his daddy as an excuse, I have no idea what grantham's is.
Browns DC- fired after finished 25th or worse in all major defense categories
Dallas DL- 2 seasons. DL coach, who cares
UGA DC- righted the ship somewhat, then proceeded to produce statistically the worst defense in school history.
UL DC- ok year against a pretty soft schedule
Now another NFL DC position? Does Oakland not have ANY other options, or did they say "hey, that guy used to be an NFL coach, let's hire him"?

Did the information about which rules he actually broke ever surface?

He smoked a lot of pot

Then he needed to be dismissed. Per our rules, you can't have a guy on your roster that is constantly being suspended. Might as well let him go to a team that will actually let him play.

He shouldn't have been suspended either. He never did anything that bad. He never hurt anyone, he passed his classes, held up his end of the scholly on the field, etc.
Make him run stairs or something if you don't want him to smoke. Dismissing him did nobody any good.

I agree, but the rules in Athens aren't going to change any time soon.

Would be a total PR disaster if UGA decided to lighten it's drug policy. No way to explain that other than "we want to win more and not punish our guys like all the other schools."

Sure there is. "We don't think our current policy is doing a satisfactory job educating and correcting the behavior of our student athletes. It has become clear that our policy of suspensions does not act as a satisfactory deterrent and only serves to unnecessarily smear the reputation of our students. We don't feel a prescribed discipline policy is appropriate in these cases. We also want to make our policy more reflective of current knowledge and social attitudes toward marijuana use."
