It is and it would be perfect. But you're right, 30 minutes from Tuscaloosa is much better

Why would that prove your point?
It doesn't, I was just giving credit where credit was do. No agenda with that statement.

i can assure you i have competed in more than 1 sec competition where at least one of the officials was the parent of an athlete also participating.
If that's true, there's a problem.
i didn't have an issue with it, why should you? believe it or not, not every sport has a huge following and finding qualified ncaa officials is easy.

I must have forgotten all the amazing linemen Bama had on the field in '08.

Where were all you women crying at during the Shula years?
Alabama fans were doing all the crying, "We don't need the SEC, we'll go independent!!!1!"
The whining and gnashing of teeth by Bama fans just prior to Saban has been thus far unmatched.

quote:You do realize this was year 2 of Saban, right? We weren't exactly deep on the OL. Smith was our best OL and our LT. I believe we moved one of our starting guards to his position, then one of the other guards got injured early in the game. So the entire OL was fricked and playing out of position most of the game.
Yeah a team that ranks just inside the top 50 every year in recruiting should wreak havoc on your O-Line.

Like someone said earlier, it's just an office building. Get it the hell out of the footprint.
That way every Alabama graduate is not going there to apply for a job.
If it was right outside of Gainsville for example do you really think the head of schedule making would be a graduate of Alabama and from Tuscaloosa? Maybe but most likely not!!!!!

Picks head up, wait what? Move the SEC office out of Alabama? Uhhh...wut? Why?
I was 'wutting' your choice of Miami and employing only Vanderbilt grads. Or was that just hyperbole with no actual solution?

Smith was a Shula recruit and he was decent at recruiting. Y'all just got tired of losing to LSU and Auburn every year.

Maybe you should stop whining on a message board, make a shite ton of money, figure out how to get into the REC, and do something about it.
Until then, shut the frick up.

OK that's it. This thread is slowly getting anchored (not joking).
The SEC Office must have put in a call.

There is a monumental difference between "Least penalized in the SEC over the last 5 years" and secnd posting talking about Bama "Being the least penalized for 5 years straight". Alabama was the least penalized team in the SEC for only 2 of those 5 years, but was #1 overall for the 5 year period.
That fact, and the fact that the 2nd and 3rd teams were Kentucky and Mississippi State, add up to you being a complete dumbass.

quote:Smith was a Shula recruit, but our recruiting classes weren't that great under him. Hell, getting a 4* was a huge deal under Shula. We had 2 OL recruits in 2007, some decent ones on paper in 2006 (but Smith was the only that turned out to be halfway decent), only one 4* OL in 2005 (Mike Johnson). Face it, we had 0 quality depth in 2008. When you lose 2 starters and everyone is playing a position they didn't practice for, it wasn't going to be pretty.

You do know that Utah finished undefeated and ranked #2 behind UF.
