Yea I lost a little respect for him when he said he's known it was all Bama for weeks.

Packed up my truck, got ready to head to spring training, and my mom could not stop telling me how proud she was and how thankful she was that I had my dreams come true and that she was so honored that I was her son. Thought it was lame at the time, but it's gets to me now. Anything and everything I've ever had was because she's spent every waking moment giving her all for me. It was great to see Harris and his mom after his announcement
His mom's reaction made me choke up a little. I love seeing parents like that so full of pride and happiness for their child. She knows that he will be in good hands and that he made the right decision.

I don't blame him. He gets a few minutes of the spotlight. He picked Bama over UK. Good luck to him.

He's a big commit that I didn't think we'd get, until the barrage of CBs to Bama in the last couple days. Then after hearing Elam was at the ceremony had me little worried. I guess UK is just gonna have to steal the next 5 star basketball player from Alabama.

This is for Cousins and Bledsoe

Fair enough, as long as Harris only stays 1 year.

If I were Kentucky my first reaction to the Harris to Alabama news is--Its Chavis's fault.

Yes, but he's no Leonard Fournette...

If he's known it's Bama for "weeks" (which is a complete 180 from his Twitter comments last night about not knowing until the last minute) then it's kind of shitty to drag things out knowing that it's not as easy for Kentucky to recover from a "no" on the recruiting trail then it would be for Alabama.
I don't wish him any ill will or anything, but if that's the case it is a little annoying knowing that Kentucky has some other good targets at RB they could've been working on.

I don't understand why coaches don't have backup plans to their backup plans. These are 17 year old kids who make decisions for a number of reasons. Even if you feel good about landing one, you still look for another because you just never know.
With Alabama this year we thought we had Adonis Thomas locked up even when he was a gator commit. Until he committed to us we still pursued Ricky Deberry and Darrell Wiiiams.
NSD announcements are the ones that really screw over coaching staffs. Those ones are almost impossible to plan for.

I mean they do. Kentucky has recruited other guys. But if you're UK and you have a shot at a guy like Harris you're likely putting as many of your resources into swaying him as you can even while recruiting your backup plan. Everybody has certain guys that are recruiting priorities.
It just has to be shitty for the staff to have heard all the way through last night that it was a last minute decision and then today he tells everyone that he knew "for weeks" that it was Alabama. I imagine Stoops and Co. wishes they knew that so they could've focused on other kids instead of wasting their time if true.

Yeah. I think the biggest thing that UK was missing this year is that vocal recruiter commit. I know last year Drew Barker was a pain in the arse for Elam's recruitment Blake Barnett did work on Harris. UK didn't have a vocal leader to counteract some of that.

Yeah, this is very true, especially for a school like UK who struggles to get 5* guys. If he's know for weeks, then he should have told Stoops so he could focus on other recruits.

The last bama rb from Kentucky became an all time great and went on to be great in the nfl as well.

I can only hope he's a fraction of Shaun Alexander.
