It's probably a toss up at best.

Nothing like following the mood movements of an 18 year old. Hope he picks the Cats, but if not we have some good young talent at RB without him. If he goes to Bama, good luck and hopefully we get to face him in the next few years.

He'll probably frick around and pick tOSU just to watch this board burn.

Well, we do play them in 2017, I think.

Did he give a reason? I know the UK247 mod Edwards is sticking with his prediction, but that isn't based on any info. It is more based on keeping the integrity of his CB picks.

Did the Rivals guy hint that that was what his sources were telling him right now?

Oh and if you want to add to the OP, his announcement is at his HS, Madison Southern, at 1:15 pm EST tomorrow.

The Courier Journal will have a live stream.

I know most in last 24 hours have said Alabama for Harris. I have not taken the plunge yet. The reason being is not any specific info (cont)

Given how close Harris has become w/ Stoops, Scott, Elam, 2014s at UK, time on campus, etc., & knowing what we do about personality, (cont)

Have thought it is more likely he says no to Alabama late just before NSD than UK, as one can take that blow more than the other & (cont)

Harris has been around UK / with UK ppl more than Alabama folks. Don't think most realize the on-the-ground pull in the state over time.

Most of rumors linking Harris to Alabama over past 24 hrs, upon more examination, have holes in them. He may pick them but I'm unconvinced.

And all that makes a lot of sense, especially given the timing. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

I would like to see KY get Harris. I always like seeing star players play for their home state schools.

We all know the crystal ball trends have been to Alabama.

We've also seen a lot of recruitments that go against the CB. The CB trends of Elam to Alabama and Rashaan Evans to Auburn come to mind.

I am not as confident he picks UA especially since there has been very little from him. Also NSD is still a long way off for whoever he commits to tomorrow.

I've had so many different feeling regarding his recruitment. At one point I was 100% sure he was going to Ohio State, a while later I was pretty sure he was going with us. Then I thought he was going to Bama. Then I thought he was going to us and now im pretty sure hes going to Bama.

Following recruiting will make you get old fast.

The crazy thing is that those were all probably true at one time. I think a lot of people who follow recruiting assume that these kids knew where they were going all along and were just trolling when expressing interest in other schools. I think there is a bit more uncertainty involved in recruiting than that. These are teenagers making life decisions.

Latest update from Kentucky Sports Radio:

quote:

When it comes to Damien Harris’s decision tomorrow, I can’t say with certainty what he will do. Damien has done a tremendous job keeping things quiet and for the most part, very little information has leaked out. My educated guess is that he will pick Alabama, but it just a guess. Sometimes in recruiting, you know what someone is going to do. I was confident that Carlton Bragg was not picking Kentucky, confident that Skal and Briscoe were picking the Cats and felt good about Elam and Barker last year. But sometimes you get educated guesses, but don’t know for certain. That was my feeling two years ago when Nerlens Noel made his decision and on the football side, the same thing was true when Ryan Timmons pulled the trigger for the Cats. In both cases, I hoped UK was the pick but was not sure.

All I have been hearing in the last 36 hours has trended towards Alabama. That comes almost exclusively from those around Damien. Do they know? I guess we will find out. I do not believe the coaching staffs yet know what Harris will do and reports that he has told UK he is not coming are, I believe, incorrect. We had planned earlier in the week to do our KSR show live from the announcement, but I decided to cancel that after talking to some folks around Madison Southern on Wednesday. No matter what happens with the kid, he is a great young man with a bright future and I don’t want to add to the circus if he doesn’t pick the Cats. A day of build-up, followed by a letdown, wouldn’t be the greatest for Harris, so I decided we wouldn’t go. In my view, it is much better for us not to be there and then he surprises everyone with a UK pick than to go and spend a day only setting up for disappointment.

With all of that said, in recruiting, sometimes we are surprised. While I flipped by pick on Wednesday from Kentucky to Alabama, maybe that was premature and those I spoke with were more confident than they should be. Also, it is possible that while Alabama was the choice Wednesday, things changed in the last 48 hours…odder occurrences have happened in recruiting. And then there is always the possibility that this could be the greatest swerve in recruiting history, with info leaked out to have folks going one way, and then the final decision hits the other way. We won’t know until tomorrow afternoon. Whatever happens, I hope Damien becomes a Cat because he will be a HUGE part of the future of UK. But if he doesn’t and joins the Tide, I wish him nothing but the best. He is a great young man and will be successful wherever he goes.

My educated guess is Alabama. I hope I am wrong.

Tim Watts and Power as well feeling confident makes me think they know something.

If you look at it from a neutral stand point and play a pro con game, the pros to Alabama certainly win out as a tally. But does playing for the state of Kentucky mean that much? Me thinks not considering he committed to Michigan early because he was a young kid yes and it was a mistake but because he was willing to leave the state.

I think he feels enough at home at Alabama and is close enough with our commits and coaches that he will go to Alabama. The fact Alabama can bring everything he needs for his skill set on top of him feeling great about the school as well as relationships is what should seal it for Alabama.

Which is why I said that Kentucky and Mississippi are very similar. It's hard to pull any of the in-state players from those states.

I know how LSU fans feel now. Hopefully Harris doesn't betray the Commonwealth and go live amongst the Updykes and Mobile-leprechaun-believers of this world.

I agree that his previous commitment to Michigan is a good sign for us. He may still pick Kentucky but I don't think it will be because he has an overwhelming sense of state pride.
