"And Missouri wasn't a total yankees state."

If youre not all in, youre out -- MO & KY just couldn't make up their mind. If you didn't secede, don't try to act like youre from the south. Yankees had more influence in your state

I love the SEC, and I'm not even being facetious. Where else would you find people arguing that their state was just as slavery-lovin' during the Civil War as any of the others?

The war was about state rights, or a congress and president wanting to trample all over them.

Sorry for having a backbone and standing up for ourselves, unlike a couple other states to the north included in the present day SEC.

One of these is not like the other. As a state with coal, horses, mules, lumber, hemp (rope and cloth), liquor, and tobacco the Union Army "decided" KY would be North but the populace wanted to be South. Both union and confederate presidents were from KY and "neutral" was more genteel than "occupied" when war broke out.

Make no mistake, out side of parts or Loserville and NKY, KY was most southern in desire and lifestyle.

Sitting on the Ohio Ocean was a most inopportune local when war broke out.

If your legislature didn't vote to secede, then you didn't join the states' rights states that did. Sounds like KY let the Yankees tell them what to do

Why? We have this thing called the internet. We can discuss Mizzou's sympathy towards the north in the war of Northern Aggression some other time.

in 14 to still be talking yankee, confederate is kind of dumb. The only state today that is capable of leaving the union is Texas.

Yet again people believe that KC is directly related to Kansas. KC was around years before kansas was a state. Kansas is named after the kansa (sp) indians whose roots started in Swmo

Just when I didn't think it could get any trashier than Mississippi, I spend a week in Missouri for Christmas. What a shite-tastic place in general. I really, really wish we could have gotten a team on the Atlantic coast and not Mizzou who brings basically nothing to the table

I am not the biggest fan of Louisiana either, but it doesn't hold a fricking candle to how terrible Missouri is

ETA: This is Branson and the surrounding area I am referring to

Oh hush. My ancestors fought in the same Civil War as yours did, and it was also about the states' rights.
