Took my 8 year old to the game and sat right in the
middle of the Mizzou contingent, next to their band. Will have to say they were some of the most classy fans I have been around during a game, both during and after. Even though they knew they were beat they stayed to the bitter end... Have to give a shout out to their chancellor (Bow Tie)as well, he didn't just sit up in his suite. He walked the stadium stairs, personally thanking as many Mizzou fans as he could for being there.... Hope that you guys win your bowl game

That's really cool to hear, man. I've always liked being around amicable fans, and always respected those that stood by their teams even in the worst of times.
Good luck to both Mizzou and Bama.

For the next Alabama game, dress in Ohio State colors and sit with your 8 year old in the middle of the Alabama contingent next to the band and report back, well if you and the 8 year old are still alive, report back

Yea. Out of my past four years as a student, I'll have to say the Mizzou fans were the friendliest fans I've spent time with in the grove. I was surprised.. All-Around they were a great fan base. They brought Aton of fans to the grove, and they all had mad respect for SEC football.

It's easy to have a good opinion of other people's fans when your team won.

And then you come back to this board and see the trashy side of Mizzou

Missouri doesn't belong in the SEC

Their fans at the games. Yes Here at TD? No. Not so much. Have never seen a fanbase talk to so much shite with so little to back it up.

Missouri is full of really good people. Nice people. Do unto others people. People who want to help others and are among the most charitable people in the country.
This is why St. Louis being the epicenter of the Hands Up, Don't Shoot movement (that was going to happen somewhere) is so tragic for our side of the state. It's giving a city and a region a black eye it doesn't deserve.
The various police departments may or may not deserve it, but the people don't.
Glad you got a chance to see who most Missourians really are. Congrats on your victory.

Thanks,
We were not there, but we even remained classy in the privacy of our home.
Mizzou did not do as well, as we had hoped, but we never expected a win. It is pretty obvious that Bama with it's 15 five star roster is a better team than Mizzou's zero five stars.

Made the trip up from Northwest Arkansas to Columbia for the Arkansas vs Missouri game with some friends.
Beautiful campus. Fans were some of the best I've met on a road trip.
Definitely recommend making a trip to Columbia for a game.

They were okay. Didn't have much interaction with them because there weren't many. I was in what was supposed to be a Mizzou section.

They didn't boo injured players? Wow- they must have had some fan meetings in between riots and got that stopped. Good for them.

Apparently my sarcasm meter is stuck in the "on" position.
Expected to come hear and hear the opposite.
It is good to hear these type stories...most fans of any team are decent folks. We seem to focus on the negative.

Mattloc,
Glad to hear. Congrats to bama, they really deserved it. Very impressed. Had a hope mizzou might win, but as it turns out, it was just a fool's hope. Best of luck in the playoffs. Will be rooting for you all.
Met many cool bama fans in 2012 in como. Met many awesome ole miss fans in 2008 in como. The georgia fans i ran into in 2012 and this year were fun to talk to. Went to knoxville a month ago and met a ton of great vols fans. Planning to go to lsu in two years. The SEC is a real blessing to be a part of.
I can certainly understand some folks may not want us in the SEC, and others may never accept us. And that's okay, because the SEC is really their conference. Hopefully my kids and grandkids will have a different outlook, but for me its still year 3. You cant manufacture acceptance. Nor would i not want to earn our place.
I have found that you get what you go looking for in this life. A handshake and a smile go a long way. I look forward to meeting cool fans at every SEC school before i'm put out to pasture. Again, what a blessing to be in the SEC. please take my word for it, there's been a profound change in our state over the past three years! Please forgive us for chanting SEC during conference games. We're learning. We'll get there. Damn is this fun!
