Mizzou is allowed to reach back to the tide's Bear Bryant glory years to point out that we owned your most historic coach.

Actually, the Stone Age was a very rough time in Alabama football history. We were very disorganized, played weak defense and had the academic prowess of your typical modern auburn student.

We did much better from the 1920's forward.

We will allow it. This is very SEC of you - maybe you guys will fit in after all. Alabama measures success by winning titles, Missouri (like most of our SEC brethren) measures success by winning games against Alabama. The beat goes on.

Weak. National titles count in perpetuity. You don't reach back to get them, once you've won them they count forever. If Missouri had ever won anything of significance they would understand this.

We're not allowed to. In fact, football wasn't played at all prior to 2000. Everyone knows that.

So no, you can't claim shite.

1968 was hardly a glory year for us. We were on our way down into a slump. Bryant was 1-1 against Mizzou in the 70s.

Apparently, we're not the only only ones living off a dead bear.
