Now before you gumps get insecure and spout off shite about an Auburn defense that everyone knows sucks, take a second and give us your thoughts about your own secondary and whether Oregon, TCU or FSU will be able to take advantage
Alabama secondary
10th in the SEC
55th nationally

Our corners have serious problems. I think any GUMP will tell you that.

Safeties are elite. Corners are young but talented. DePriest is too slow.
But on this subject, does no one think Auburn has an elite offense? At some point a defense can't be completely dominant imo and a teams offense has to win a game for them. I know our defense isn't nearly what it has been but it's not like we are A&M.
And there is no group of WRs in the country as good as Coates and Williams. Not even Oregon or TCU has WRs like that. Our CBs match up better physically with those kinds of players instead of the freaks that Auburn has.

Not great, better than most.

Not elite. Not as bad as they look on paper. When you're always ahead then the opponent is going to attempt more passes. They are stingy in the red zone as you are aware.

I can almost taste your tears from here.

Good enough to beat Nick Marshall on the best day of his career.

Well LSU did complete a forward pass against them so you know...

Could be, but the teams with an offense to test it have Charmin soft defenses too.
And I have to think that given time to heal, rest and prepare before the playoffs start, you will see significant improvement on that side of the ball.

No. Alabama can out score anyone. FSU is the only team out of the other 3 that has a defense worth a damn, so they are the only one that should present a problem to our offense.

Alabama won because they scored more points in the redzone, but that is not the point of this thread.

In particular, against big receivers.
They're actually better this year than last, but still have issues that can be exploited.
I don't know that FSU can take big advantage of them, but I suspect Bama would have to win a shootout against Oregon or TCU.

Our elite offense, pass rush, safeties, process, Ragland all over the place shutting down the box like a motherfricker, etc etc. will make up for that technical weakness
And we have depth at the position. And we can adjust well, as we did Saturday after benching Jackson.

Sure, it could, seeing as how we will be playing really good offenses.

Bad enough that they may not pick off Winston when he's point shaving.

We may have to get in a few shootouts. I think the Auburn game proved we have more than enough bullets to be successful in a shootout.

Why didn't Auburn score in the red zone?
