Music at Bryant-Denny

Earlier this year, I went to the Florida game there. I do not recall the incessant pumped-in music when Bama was on defense. ("That's because the Gators were barely on offense," you're correctly thinking). Well, I attended my first Iron Bowl with the fiancee and future in-laws. When did Bryant-Denny become an NBA game experience instead of a college football game with your 400 member band leading cheers? Seemingly between every play when Bama was on defense there would be some kinda trendy rap music, the 'Black Betty' electric guitar intro, and/or Scott Cochran challenging the fans with "I caaannnn't heeear yoouuuu."
Just wondering what Bama fans (and visiting fans who have recently been) think about the stadium experience. Hope this doesn't become the new norm in college football, but I'm sure recruits love it.

Somebody mistakenly bragged on the music/sound guy. Now he is out of control.

I havent been to a game since they started the piped in music. Damn, now that I think about it, this is the first season since 2005 that I haven't been to multiple Bama games. I am going to try and make one of the playoff games if I can

It's a party atmosphere, it's a lot of fun. You must be the old guy with binoculars and a rented radio.

When you are always on national television there are loooooonnng commercial spells that require killing time. Has been the same for the ten years that I have been going to most home games.

I want Cochran off the speakers.

I think there is a balance to be had. I like the music during longer breaks/changes in possession. But I prefer the band between plays - cutting the song after a few seconds grates my nerves.
And Cochran in way over done.

I love when kids imply they'll never be old.
You know the difference between the young and the old, genro? The old have been young.

It was definitely the most piped in music I have ever heard in BDS. I think it has its place, but that being said besides halftime I only heard the band play one time (the Green Day song around the end of the 3rd). I like the other music being played because it fires up the team and the crowd, but I still want to hear the band more than I did.

I'm over the piped in rap music and I'm used to it now. The guy yelling was terrible and about the worst thing I've encountered at a game (right up there with the dude from Ole Miss who looked like Crab Man from My Name is Earl they turned loose with a microphone a few years ago). Their video boards were too small, and they never showed any replays at all. The amplified band music was also terrible. Not that I would mind the band being amplified, but the sound quality was awful. I enjoyed the Alabama and Skynard they play, as that helps make the Bama game experience unique, kind of like Calling Baton Rouge at LSU.

I was at this years Iron Bowl. My only criticism is way to much Cochran.

The Cochran bit is old. When they first started playing it they only did it once a game at the start of the 4th qtr, iirc.
As far as the music, everyone seems to enjoy it. If you don't you must be old.
What's annoying as hell is UT incessantly playing turn down for what.

No you don't.
Your same played out style has been dominating college football since 2008.
Start with the little changes and suddenly Bill Battle is introducing Gene Chizik as the new head coach.

Yea I agree, Cochran screaming is unnecessary. At the start of the 4th, ok. Other than that, I'm good.
