from a percentage standpoint, I'd go Chavis (but I'd only put it at about 20%)
So you're saying there's a chance?
Here's an upvote just for giving me hope

The part with Moore is, to me, the ugly side of recruiting. we (any program) flirts with a young man and increases their interest and then the program cools on him leaving him with fewer and degraded options.
At the same time, a kid can say we are the one only to see a flip on NSD.
I really wish you could have an elongated signing period to protect the schools and maybe a month cooling off period to a certain hard date where a kid could renig to protect them. It's a two way street. If a kid signs past the hard date, he is committed regardless.

He decommitted from A&M. That's on him.

He was quoted directly as saying that in his press conference.

This has to be the most important thing Sumlin said in his press conference. (Yes, he took that many pauses as if he were choosing his words carefully). This can be interpreted to mean several things.

So for those of us who want to prematurely fill our jizz jars, it means we are waiting for January 1 so Foster can get his bonus and then come over. (just me speculation)

He already signed his extension. I just hope it's someone better than Pruitt.

I never really troll on here but if we get chavis I will probably end up getting banned

Everyone still expecting Chief?

Houston's bowl isn't until January 2 so clearly Gibbs needs until then at least

Gibbs is going to Tech I thought

I just want to post on that rant thread that was taunting A&M for even thinking such a thing was possible.

He is. Gibbs expressed his interest to Sumlin, Sumlin turned him down.

We can afford his buyout.

I don't think he signs an extension unless he either didn't want to come here or he was told we have our guy already. There is really zero reason to sign with them now and not hold out another week.
It's not like Va Tech was suddenly going to tell him to pound sand. In fact it would be super easy to just say what Chavis is saying - let's talk after the bowl game - and in his case you can add "and talk to Beamer"

I see your point, but I do disagree that there is zero reason to sign an extension. I'd have to see the specific language of his contract. It could be worded in a way that would create a situation where it would be in his best interest to sign even if he had no intention of staying.

Hmmm....what you thinking?
Posted on 12/29/14 at 12:53 am to tmc94
Well if he really does just want his 800k, it might require him not to be just employed by the school but "under contract" but I believe his contract goes beyond this year so I don't know.
Also, the newer contract could have a more favorable buyout or an equal buyout, and if so what is the difference?
Just a lot of lawyer questions (I think some of y'all know I'm a lawyer, but a decent one not like hank ) that I would want to answer before I could for sure say a contract extension is a sure sign that he is committed to the university. Obviously face value it shows commitment, but if you put the two contracts side by side what are the real differences, ya know?

not to go all holiday inn express/hank on you but that seems to be a contract in bad faith. The guy has been there 20 years. I doubt he wants to go out in an ugly manner or lie to his mentor like that, especially when the difference is rather negligible at best. I guess it just seems rather implausible to me.
