While I'm happy the necessary move was made it's hard to celebrate a man losing his job. I'll wait to celebrate (hopefully) when the new dc is named.
Also, why was Hagen named and not somebody like T. Price? I thought Hagen was one of the worst coaches? I realize it's a probably a meaningless gesture.

Interim coaches are almost never retained. I think Sumlin wants to keep Price.

Bring out the money! If our DC isn't making 1.5+million we didn't get the right guy. I want someone we forced here with money, ala Boom.

Unfortunate, but necessary.

Better have someone better lined up... At least some good ideas. Who gets a call?

Slightly worse, but if its interim, then its all good.

I'm thinking it'll be Venables, ties to Sumlin, wants back to the Texas area, Clemson has been pretty good at D, can recruit (having roots in Dallas bc of the time at OU).
I'm sure Narduzzi and Boom will be on the list but I think Venables is the most likely splash for us.

Isn't Venables the one that constantly negative recruited us about being a racist school at OU?

Pffh, for a million dollars, we can probably get him to say Oklahoma has a local chapter of the Klu Klux Klan next door to the practice facilities.

Yes he is an for some reason thinking about him here makes my stomach churn. I want Boom or someone on that level

What was venables story at ou? Was he forced out, or did he leave forked money at Clemson?
Posted on 11/28/14 at 8:00 pm to betweenthebara
If I remember Clemson money whipped him.

I've hated Venables ever since he flipped Corey Nelson on NSD.
