Should McDonalds employees get paid $15.00 an hour?

I can't think of one solid reason they should get paid that much an hour. There is a difference between a career and a job. One pays you for what you do, the other pays you for what you know.
Personally, I wish they would not stop protesting. Its just hilarious to listen to their reasons.
What do you think?

We had this thread a month or so ago but it's fun so I'll partake.
No they absolutely do not deserve $15.00 unless you are going to double wages for everyone which would ultimately defeat the purpose.

Yes. Because prices would go up, people would stop going, they'd go out of business, and frick McGreasys

Yes because you would see less Mcdonalds everywhere.

If McDonald's wants to pay them $15/hr., it is certainly their prerogative.
I'll assume that when that happens that McDonald's will have automated the majority of the tasks in the restaurant (or we have had massive inflation).

Not just no...hell to the frick no.
They open that little window at the drive thru and practically throw your food at you, can't say thank you and when you actually have to tell them that they got your order wrong, all you get is a great big huff and roll of the eyes like it's gonna kill them to actually expend any energy.

The employees should have every right to collectively bargain for the best wage they can get.
Unfortunately for them, there will be plenty of folks willing to undercut them. The downturn in the economy recently sucks for older people who were forced down to jobs at fast food places to cut out a living, but it doesn't mean a franchise owner trying to cut out a profit should raise wages for no reason.

In a decade all the jobs (cashier, manager, front line, etc) will be replaced by touch screens and plastic money. Rich get richer by getting rid of humans except one day how will the humans have jobs to earn money to buy stuff.

This. And the company should have every right to refuse/and or fire them. If the public disagrees with the company's actions, they'll fold and start a compromise. It's how the free market works. Don't need Government to mandate wages

Have you seen that movie (cannot recall the name of it!) where everyone has the amount of time they have left to live displayed on the inside of their arms and they pay for everything with minutes/hours/days off of their lives? Interesting concept.

Nah.
The story of the technology age economies will be that of small businesses exploiting niche markets and an expansion in small scale agriculture in specialized crops and livestock.

Yes! That was it. I just thought the concept was pretty fascinating. I'd want to be a "Time Keeper" though. I would abolish ALL Clemson fans by taking ALL of their time. What a great world that would be.

I would pay the one who doesn't talk on her iPhone while working $15/hour.

Not no, but hell no.
However, McDonald's invoices are guaranteed money and are not subject to corrupt pieces of shite who refuse to pay for their product.

I would pay the one that wouldn't screw up my coffee order ( lg w 2 creams) $15 an hour.

Nah, they should make enough to eke out a living, but at what that is is wildly inconsistent across the country.
