Im down with it. Hope he plays Saturday. If I were UGA, I would declare him ineligible then one hour later, reinstate him
Gurley makes speech to team on field. We comin, UGA DT dominates game, Errybody at Mizz mad. Instant rivalry

The ncaa has to reinstate. 2-4 games.
However, I hope it is sooner.
The difference between this and other cases is that the bag man is outing him and indicating direct payment. Other cases have just had pictures, but no one said there was a transaction.

It isn't what you know, it's what you can prove.

The NCAA set a precedent with Johnny Fooseball last year. Of course...they are never inconsistent.

lol. He'll play again this year for certain. I could call the NCAA and "accuse" auburn's starting 22 of signing autographs and hosting sex parties with underage dwarfs but it doesn't mean anything unless there is proof.

putting ink on a jersey is a little different than rape. Not saying that he DID do anything wrong, but the accusations are quite a bit different.

Which you'd think we'd learn from, but we have also set a precedent that we're the biggest bunch of spineless, quivering pansies in the nation so we will sit our best player in 3 decades until the NCAA tells us not to anymore.

If bama can let the T-Town Menswear cash connection happen out in the open, anything is possible.

This came out too late. If it came out in the Summer, he could have sat out a half in the season opener.

you don't understand, we play by a different set of rules (by our own choice, not blaming anyone else). Bama, auburn, FSU, aTm, and probably every other major school around basically tells the NCAA "look, we don't care what you've heard. Find us PROOF that we did somethign wrong and we'll go from there. Until then, f off"
Whereas at UGA, we'll sit Gurley in the hopes that playing nice and doing things "the right way" will give us leniency. Which it never does.

If the same guy who has a video of Gurley signing autographs claims he paid Gurley for those autographs, the NCAA has ruled players ineligible or even put schools on probation with less evidence in the past

He will be suspended a certain number of games and UGA will never get anywhere near probation for this.

But that's what I don't get. Imagine I had video tape of me and gurley and him signing an autograph for me. I can claim I paid him for it...but unless there is some proof that money was exchanged then what case is there?
