Senior Bowl disagrees but I know what you mean. Some legends have played in that stadium.

Sounds like everyone's mad that Muffin won another championship.

Dunno about that. Maybe the history of the stadium since USA started DI football. But Ladd Peebles has some good history. Just the stadium got too small and a little run down until renovated lately for Bama, Auburn, and the rest of the SEC.
Bear Bryant's 1st game as the Alabama coach, he lost to LSU in that stadium.

The Bear, Bo, the Snake and Joe Willie, 48 Pro Football Hall of Famers, college football's highest scoring bowl game in history, Classic excitement, Friday Night heroes, Elvis and much, much more.
They've all been a part of the storied history of Ladd-Peebles Stadium - Mobile's centerpiece for sports for 67 years.
Since its inaugural event on October 2, 1948, when the University of Alabama battled Vanderbilt to a 14-14 tie, Ladd-Peebles Stadium can claim host to one of the most unique histories of any sports facility in the nation.

But the one constant at Ladd-Peebles Stadium has been football. Following that Alabama-Vanderbilt contest in 1948, the Crimson Tide would go on to play 18 more games at the stadium over the next 20 years posting an 10-7-2 mark.
Most notable among the Tide's games in Mobile was the 1958 season-opener against LSU, a contest that holds the distinction of being the first game that legendary head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant ever coached at Alabama. While LSU pulled away late on a touchdown run by Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon, the night was made even more unforgettable for the sellout crowd in attendance when a section of the stadium's end zone stands collapsed during the game. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

But Alabama was certainly not alone among major college teams who made appearances at Ladd Stadium over the years. The Auburn Tigers played eight games at Ladd from 1948-55, playing marquee opponents such as Clemson, Florida and Ole Miss. The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles have played 19 times at the stadium beginning in 1950 and, most recently, when they defeated Ohio University in the 2007 GMAC Bowl.

A total of 48 members of the Pro Football of Fame have played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium since its construction in 1948, a number which undoubtedly ranks as one of the highest totals of any stadium in the nation that does not to serve as a longtime home field for an NFL franchise.

Let's be honest, Ladd stadium is about the size of the stadium at MSU. I am sure Mullen felt at home.

Alabama used to play a game or two in Mobile. They used to play SEC teams. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Plenty of big games have been played in that stadium. Does Dan need to google search on his phone and fact check before he opens his dumb fricking mouth?

Is the mayor gonna hang a plaque of Dan somewhere in the city honoring this historic event? Maybe in the tunnel or in the shipyard?
I would plan a vacation to take the kids to see that plaque.

I believe he was talking about attendance.
Not sure he's correct about that.. but pretty sure it's about attendance.

I highly doubt it. That stadium hasn't been expanded in years and NFL teams have even played there for exhibition games.
The 1958 Alabama-LSU game was a sell out. That much I know.
