Not surprising. Wonder how long the powers that be let him slide.
"According to April Brown of the Elmore County Clerk’s Office in Wetumpka, Updyke made one payment of $100, with a $1 processing charge, and has not made a payment since."

Auburn will never come close to getting that money. Everyone knows that.

If Updyke can't pay the money, he should take the initiative to make restitution by planting Live Oaks and various other trees across Alabama and the South.

Those Wendy's paychecks don't go as far as they used to...

Maybe Lee County can spend a few more thousand to get another $99 out of him.
Btw, did that DA win his re-election?
(this isn't to say he didn't deserve some punishment and restitution... but a lot less money could have been spent to have gotten the same results or something that would have been more meaningful in the way of restitution and punishment than what the DA spent in prosecuting this.

Golly Wally! I was just telling my wife this morning, "I wish I knew what Harvey was up to."
She said to check the message boards that there would probably be an Auburn fan that would be able to give up to the minute status reports on his life.

Who cares? Let him go back to jail.

They're never going to get that money from him. It was dumb to seek such a high amount of restitution. If they truly wanted to punish him they needed to think this through a little harder. if they try to put him in jail long enough to "work off" the fine it would get thrown out as cruel and unusual.
The funny thing is Auburn fans were claiming Bama fans would step up and pay this debt for him. This puts a dent in that theory, doesn't it?

Not paying his bills. More Bama street cred for him.

I'm sure oBAMA will bail him out.
I think the guy could get the cheeze if he did one of those online money raising things. Seems like Bamers would support him. You know deep down they all had a bit of enjoyment out of the deed.....what's $10 for that?
