Alabama fans have taken our remarkable success through the years, and exaggerated it to ridiculous proportions. We never lose a game - we only beat ourselves. We are always the best team, even when we lose, so we get second chances to win championships. We even claim national titles like 1941 when we finished 20th in the AP. We created a world of full-on gumpness that had never seen its equal. Not even the French could compete with us in overstating our importance.

Enter the Aggies.

I can't explain how you have done it, but in through some remarkable combination of money, recruiting, limited success, and general Texas bravado, you have out-gumped US. You now claim to be a dynasty BEFORE YOU HAVE EVEN FINISHED FIRST IN THE DIVISION. You are a DYNASTY without yet even playing in the SEC championship game. We have always known we made some dubious claims to college football dominance, but it was always based in a level of success that made it plausible. We boast of championships in years that most major polls named someone else. You are boasting of championships in seasons that haven't even been played yet!

I bow to your remarkable achievement. Aggies, you have done it. You have out-gumped the Gumps. I am in awe.
