How vanilla do you expect Gus to be this weekend?

Last season, Gus beat Arky on the Sping game playbook.

we will be clicking on all cylinders. Wide open playbook. Return too much not too

Can't afford vanilla on the first game of the season with an SEC opponent.

Score dependent as always. If we are gashing them between the tackles or they are giving us the 10 yard stop route then that's what you'll see.

Come out throwing a bunch with JJ
Then get vanilla once NM comes in

This. If Gus finds something that works, expect him to do it continually.

On that secondary? He's pulling out Appendix 3, sub paragraph D, the 'Auburn Air Raid.'

Just enough to win...we have to win this game.

We should be very vanilla on offense. Don't ask too much of JJ just simple handoffs screen passes ect.. No need to take risks throwing the ball around in the first half. Play it safe build a lead and let NM have some fun in the second half.

As vanilla as he can without exposing too much and getting the win.

We seriously click on all cylinders on game ONE, we goin to da ship. People better hide their children because its gonna get ugly for the other guys.
Never happens that way for Auburn though.

Tell me about it. I watched the game from last year. All it was Handoff to Tre left and right, sneak in some reads, bubble screens, and the go route to Sammie. The only thing that was totally different was the time Jeremy Johnson threw the pass over the middle and it was beautiful.

As vanilla as is allowed. I don't expect Gus to show anything that isn't necessary.

I wanna see the whole fricking rainbow shoved down their throats...please. After tonight, I need something.

Poor guy.
I don't know what to expect so I won't try to guess. I will say listening to the sound bytes from practice Gus was enforcing instead of just winning this year let's take that step forward and bury teams by 20+. If that's an indicator of how good he feels we are then I imagine we will open that playbook and go full blast

The beauty of Gus' system and the reason it works is because he operates like a magician. I'm not saying he doesn't have a big playbook that he can bring to bear, but he does get a ton of mileage out of Vanilla. In fact, Vanilla is integral to the plan.
Meaning: the Magician shows the audience something the same way 5 times ("Vanilla"). They think they know what they are seeing. Then a wrinkle, and Boom, big play.

You think? Maybe I'm already in the orange kool-aid but I think AU wins big with basic stuff. I guess I'm not giving the hog enough respect.

He only thing I worry about is Arkansass physicality. I heard an Auburn player say they were the most physical team they played in 2013.
Otherwise blowout.
