Anyone else think LSU -4.5 vs Wisconsin is extremely low?

What gives?

Wisconsin literally lost their entire front 7 on defense from last year, and they just named a starting quarterback who hasn't taken a snap as a D1 quarterback - and spent the majority of last season as a backup defensive back.

To bet the house on LSU to cover, or no?

Good thing they run the ball more than Auburn.

Lot of unknowns for LSU. I think LSU will win outright, but -4.5 seems fair.

COuld LSU win by 20, sure, but I think it wil be close.

Wisky doesn't really get blown out much. They have probably the best RB in the country and a very good offensive line. I think 4.5 is a good line. They will get their yards and points on the ground against anyone.

I think they won't throw the ball much at all and will still keep it close with a rushing attack that eats up clock.

LSU lost like 90% of its offensive productivity from last season

I wouldn't bet the house on LSU, but I wouldn't be shocked if they won by more than 5. (I know that doesn't help)

LSU should have a big-time O-Line, but they are replacing a 3,000 yard passer, Two 1,000 yard WRs, and a 1,500 yard RB. That's a ton of production gone. Too many question marks on both sides of the ball for me to bet the house right now.

I dropped $100 on LSU and the over for Arky/AU (57.5).

Not a very good week for betting, but trying to get my pot up. I always cap myself at $300 each season. :lowroller:

No. I think LSU could very easily lose this game. Wisky is no joke

I am not confident that LSU wins this game honestly.

New QB, new RB, new WRs...this is a year to start with Sam Houston St, not Wisky.

Wisconsin is the type of team that can give LSU trouble (unlike Oregon, TCU, Wva, etc).

Lots of unknowns in that game but I will not be surprised to see LSU lose, however I do think they get the win.

WAY low. LSU will destroy them. If it was a Bowl game, probably not.

Ask Auburn about those backup defensive backs.

I don't.

I think this is going to be a short, low-scoring game, with a lot of running plays, and very few passing. I don't see a lot of big plays, so the possessions for each team will be limited. That said, one turnover could be the difference in the game. A lot of 9-man fronts on both sides. It'll come down to which team is in better physical shape by the 4th quarter.

I actually think Wisky will cover, but lose the game. Honestly, I think it'll look a lot like last years game vs Iowa, with a slightly closer score at the end.

It's going to be a slobber knocker of near-epic proportions. Miles' type of game.

My personal rules of betting.

1. I never bet on my teams
2. I never bet week one
3. I never bet on teams with new starting QB's

ETA: I do think it's a great line for LSU though.

now that all the troll responses are (hopefully) out of the way

i'd say its a fair line..i do think LSU wins something like 20-13

i cant see either team lighting up the scoreboard. i can only see that happening if its like the oregon game in 2011 where we capitalize off field position and turnovers and they self destruct.

it will be close throughout IMO. kinda similar to the bowl game vs iowa but i expect more polish from the qb spot, effective ground game, and the wr's to surprise. if we would just throw to the fricking tight end once in a while.

I like our chances. SEC vs Big 10 on a clean field.

I think it's a pretty fair line.

Opening night, esp. with two unknown teams returning some talent, but who both lost some experienced players - is always hard to handicap.
