I can't argue with the list but I'll add this. What the frick do they mean by iconic? I know pretty much every Div I schools jersey. I guess they're all iconic by my definition. Now if you're going based on staying the same then I disagree with that list.

Florida State and Miami have much more iconic uniforms than Florida.

I agree that UF's uniforms haven't been as consistent over the years, we pretty much didn't stick to a style until '79 onward, however I would consider them 'iconic'. They are certainly among the most easily recognizable in college football.

Florida State and Miami's are more recognizable, IMO.

Well, if you go by the concept that an icon is an image used to represent something with meaning (a word, or an institution in this case), and then try to apply it across a broad sampling of people to see if it works...
I guess you have to have a distinctive look, largely unchanged over the years, that a lot of people would know. Something that if copied, you might mistake for the "real thing"-

What do you see?

It's Joe Flacco at Delaware

I'm not sure why Florida St is left out; very distinctive helmets, basically the same unis over the years, and a prominent program from at least the early 80's on. Maybe they haven't been "good" long enough, or maybe the helmet fades away too easily from the stands/TV pics, and you just have a team in gold and white/garnet. Or maybe if you mute it and don't hear the Seminole chant, they become more obscure.

But I'd be able to pick them out pretty quickly.

Auburn's is interesting to me; in my case, I recognize them quickly, but for some reason they just don't draw my eye. It's not a matter of favoritism, I don't know if the color scheme is faded or what... but even when I'm rooting for them (it does happen), they're usually the 2nd team I notice. Same thing with Ole Miss, while LSU or Georgia jump out at me.

I think Penn St has that issue too, but their look is SO minimalist that it becomes works in the other direction.

I can't tell you what UF's "normal" home and away unis are. White helmet? Orange helmet? No clue.

When I think of UW, I see the 4th uni- gold helmets and pants, purple jerseys. Might recognize the 2nd- gold helmets, purple clothing. The rest- I'd need to see it listed to know who they are
