NFL has better players, I understand. Its boring to watch for me though. College game is more exciting to me.
This plus all the horrid PI calls, penalties for breathing on QB's. Plus CFB has so many variations on types of Offensive and Defensive Schemes. Big plays, comebacks, exciting game atmosphere, pomp and circumstance etc... Back to the thread I switched to U-Verse but saved mad jack and did not have Sunday Ticket or MLB plan anyway. I am though really glad D-TV picked it up. Once again Bevo & B1G have had the SEC go in dry.

Nice prediction there buddy
Speaking of those Longhorn fools, is Directv going to make LHN a part of this deal? I hope not.

Shocked to see number one Aggy lover Randy Duke strapping on the goalie pads in this thread this afternoon

lol. Fall practice opens and the SEC rednecks come out of the woodwork to post on a UT message board. Obviously a number of SEC fans don't think it's all about the S$E$C. Obviously, a lot of SEC fans have taken up the aggy tradition of understanding it doesn't really matter until it is measured against the burnt orange yardstick. Eleventy billion dollars per school each year. Isn't that the latest the redneck accountants have convinced themselves the cash flows are? "Can we git that on a WalMart gift card?" You're right. I confused you with another poster who has a similar handle.
I apologize.

Which is asinine. I can't understand how anyone sees liking college football as being mutually exclusive. The product on the field in the NFL is simply incredible.
don't disagree, but for many of us, it's simply a matter of how much free time we have to invest in different sports venues. outside of baseball, and somewhat behind them, the NFL, pro sports interest me very little.
The relevant issue is not so much who is a fan of both sports, but who is a fan of each..
Recall ESPN's own poll data we saw a couple of weeks ago:
College sports are second only to the NFL in avid fan loyalty and appeal and in college sports, football is king. They also revealed the most recognized brand as a leader of college football was "SEC".
This only goes to enforce what we already know, no major provider in the SEC footprint can afford NOT to offer the SEC Network, it really is that simple.

That is just an incredible start. The SEC AD's are going to have the money to put into coaching and even better facilities.

I probably would have subscribed to DirecTV if I didn't figure out the lag in satellite programming.
For those of you who don't know, it takes about 3 seconds to encode HD from the SD broadcast (due to the sound).
Satellite adds an additional 5 seconds.

Someone needs to call in and feign canceling in order to see if the deals have all but dried up.

I'm just happy that I don't have to get the sports package to get the SEC Network on Comcast here in Washington.
It's basically the same tier as PAC 12 Washington and ESPNU.

yep that's my understanding,, all I know is we get ESPN U and are no longer getting the shaggybevo channel, so I'm great with that! sounds like there was a lot more pushback outside the bev10 states to exclude that lhn crap.

So, uh, do you think we'll have enough money now to buy us a pretty good football team? We already got a shitload of money for basketball and that's got us up there at #1.
I've heard a competitive SEC team will run about
$100-110 mil. Is that about right?
Mo money, mo money, mo money.

Since when did Comcast ever carry that POS? I know that has to make the sips seethe with rage that they're pretty much shut out of the greater Houston area.
