Went to the annual Fan Day/Gump Run. Sims looks to be the team leader so far at QB. He made some good throws he was accurate and you can tell he's put in a lot of off season work and showed good command of the offense. Lead every drill and was carrying himself like a starter... there is a noticeable gap between he and others.. Coker has a really strong arm but threw about 4 ints in scrimmage situations. He may be the truth in time but Coker won't likely beat out Sims.

Bama's D looks scary good, size speed combos are off the charts. Got a punter that can boom it 60 yds but also shanked a couple.

If Coker starts over Sims, will it divide the team iyo?

Shocking that you think Sims would win the QB battle. Go defend Anthony Grant somewhere.

My question is, how many of y'all feel confident about the season if Sims beats out Coker? Granted, that means Saban decided Sims was the best option, and he knows more about football than any of us. But it doesn't necessarily mean he's a good option. It could just mean the others were even less impressive.

I was underwhelmed the few times I saw Sims play last year. He's a runner, definitely, and had some nice moves on the ground, but his passing was terrible and great play in practice doesn't necessarily translate to great play in real games. He seems like he'd be a better fit as a TE or something. Well, an extremely undersized TE, anyway. Maybe a situational back?
