where have I done this, not in response to someone being blindly being a dickhead to Bama posters?

While we do feel better about ourselves when we look at Alabama fans, we do not make the decision to report the news
We do not force people to say Roll Tide when doing something embarrassing
Fact of the matter is, if those things were happening with people saying War Eagle, they would still make the news and be posted here and /r/cfb and all CFB sites

Oh, so you justify your douchebaggery because of other douchebaggery?
Again, there is a nice black pot over there. Go introduce yourself.
ETA: Sorry, it was on the 2nd page.

Obviously not a perfect study, but you have any actual counter statistics?
I don't think anyone needs a study on TV markets and athletic department revenue to determine that The University of Alabama has more fans worldwide than Auburn University.
There is no rationale to suggest Auburn University has more football fans than Alabama.
To believe otherwise is rather silly. Unfortunately, because of that - we also have a higher number of nutjobs that call themselves "Alabama fans".

LOL, wait til the next "who has the biggest bandwagoner" thread starts, and you guys will be posting that graphic right and left, just like the last time.

except data
Can you provide anything to counter other than say there's no way

You have numbers to back this up? You can rag on that study, because obviously it isn't perfect, but I would argue that the worldwide numbers are close enough to be statistically irrelevant to this conversation.

Then please explain your point.
Really? Think of statistics as relatively constant in the context of the prior poster's contention and your graph. There will be some variance of non-alums and crazies, but not a lot.
Or just reread my earlier post. Particularly the last sentence.

In alabama? No. Nationally, it is probably damn close if we don't. Close enough to not be statistically relevant.
You have evidence to prove otherwise?
I think you underestimate the size of our current bandwagon. All I have is anecdotal, but I never used to see Bama fans on the West Coast. I see a few a week now.

Well if you are measuring tshirt fans, you could start with tshirt/merch sales. Or revenue. Or tv ratings. Or media contracts. On and on. Nobody believes AU has more fans than UA, in state or out. Aside from you.

How is calling poncho villa a cocksucker any form of douchebaggery? The guy sucks, look at his posts for christ's sake.

You argued that if it was true that total fans were equal, then auburn would have as many crazies.
If that were the case, there would be equal instances of fans actually being crazy. There isn't, therefore, if that fan number is true, then statistically speaking, Bama would have more crazies.
How am I not getting your point?

quote:This is why people keep making fun of it on here. Bama fans can't accept that their fans overall are crazier than anyone else. Its not because you have more fans and its not because people sit around only doing stories on Bama fans. Auburn has been to the NC 2 times in the last 4 years, just like Bama, and you can bet if an Auburn fans did what the Bama fans have done it would have been in the news too. The "Everyone is just picking on us" and the "We have more fans" excuses are just so Bama fans can ignore the fact their fan base is abnormal.
They are just going wide spread because Alabama has been on a pretty good run in football. So every person with a site, blog, or a username is posting pics videos, and mugshots about Alabama to feel better about themselves. Just so they can say " I would rather lose the game than be an Alabama fan."

Pretty much this.
I'll also include the fact that there is a huge portion of the populace that doesn't even know where Auburn is located.
Anytime I've ever traveled and been asked "Where are you from?" - and the response is "Alabama"... I can't tell you how many times the other person's response is something along the lines of "Oh, well Roll Tide".
I've never gotten a "War Eagle" for being from Alabama.
The Crimson Tide is a national brand. Because of that, our fanbase is certainly larger.
However, as I've stated several times - that's not always a good thing.

I never said that Auburn definitively has more. I'm merely arguing that the number is close enough to be statistically irrelevant to the conversation.

You did exactly what I am talking about. You just compared Auburn to Alabama. That is the root of the problem.

The only fan base I've seen mimic those characteristics is UGA, and in far fewer numbers.
But it boils down to a religious-like belief in Alabama and a social awkwardness and lack of tact. It may not lead to tree killing, but it leads to some windsuit wearing Bama fan tracking down your wife from across a restaurant for having an Auburn keychain to tell her about how bad Bama is gonna beat that arse this year.
