If the Penn State, or West virginia, or Tennessee, or Nebraska, or USC, or God forbid, Auburn jobs would have been open, he would have swooped in on one of those in 2 seconds also.
And let's not forget the "I will not be the next head coach at Alabama" garbage he kept spewing ad nauseum; then, lo and behold, he is.

How the frick do you know? Alabama is a way bigger job than any of those or anywhere else he'd previously coached.

I only recall him saying it once, but I have noticed LSU fan's recollection of those events resemble a fish story told years later.
