Billy Donavan vs. John Calipari

ESPN has done a countdown of the top 50 College Basketball Coaches, today was Tom Izzo at #3, meaning the Top 2 will be Billy D and Cal.
Who would you rather have?
I pick Donavan, he has won more titles, gone to more Final Fours, and has no known NCAA violations or sanctions against him. He might not be able to recruit as well but give him Kentucky's roster last year and I bet they do better than an 8 seed.

Recency bias, I am assuming
I'd probably take Coach K over anyone else as well

Because BD and Fried squid are 1 and 2?

Donovan is better suited for UF, while Calipari is better suited for UK.
I don't think either would be as successful if they flipped places.

Were any other SEC coaches mentioned?

No
BD and Cal are only 2 SEC coaches to make the list
I think its a good list, glad they didn't include Travis Ford in their Top 50, he is horrible, but Scott Drew barely made it at #50, he sucks also

I think Donovan would be successful anywhere he went. And Calipari has made the final four with 3 different teams, so I think he'd be fine at Florida as long as he had the boosters to support him.

Actually, I think BD would be successful at UK. Really successful. I'm glad we'll never have to worry about that though.
BD just led the U18 team to gold and their average margin of victory was 56 points I think. I believe that they scored 150 something in one game.

I guess this list was done before AU hired Pearl. Surely they would have included him in the top 50

Pearl is definately Top 50
Way more so than guys like Bob Hoffamn. I know he had a good year at Mercer but that was just one year, one NCAA win, John Groce at Illinois did what Hoffman did twice and isn't on the list
Same with Archie Miller, Elite 8 run at Dayton was nice but thats all he has done

Kevin Stallings and Bruce Pearl are listed as guys who just missed the top 50.
