Don't forget Kiffin almost ruined Marquise Lee and completely ruined Silas Redd. RIP Henry and his Neanderthal forehead

Yes. The same Miami team that little Nicky left in shambles because he didnt take the advice of Dr. Andrews and instead signed fat-arse Culpepper.

Also, those fantasizing about Lee need to snap back to reality. He was good against inferior defenses, but he was trembling with fear against Bama in the game in November. He was flinging up punts off his back foot so bad he was nearly falling backwards. He nearly completed as many passes to the other team as he did us. I don't think that trend was going to change any time soon. He probably would have finished the game with 6 or 7 picks, and we would have surely lost. I get how you can look at Jefferson's performance against Bama and ask "this is the best we've got?" However, Lee was definitely not a better option against Bama.
JJ definitely had to be the main focus because he had always played some of his better games against Bama. But the dude completed five passes in the SEC Championship Game against UGA for 30 yards (longest pass was 9 yards). He accounted for 25 total yards of offense in the game (-5 rushing). That had to be really concerning for Miles. In fact, we were down 10-0 and about to get chased because the offense was going 3-and-out on every drive and UGA missed two wide open TDs in the end zone. But then Honey Badger happened.
Lee played some bad games against Bama. In fact, he had a couple of bad seasons where it looked like he would never be an option. But he changed that. He played really well in the limited, but crunch time part of the game in 2010 against Bama after JJ got hurt in a good outing and he sealed the game with a long completion for the 1st down. Every game is different. It just wasn't JJ's night and your backup QB is there for when the starter is not doing anything. He should've seen the field. Bama may have still won, but he should've seen the field. Then again, when your coaches run Spencer Ware on 3rd and 8 and run JC Copeland (who had 1 carry for 0 yards on the year) on 3rd and 4, the QB choice probably doesn't matter. Terrible game plan - period.

I believe Cameron is in charge of the quarterback situation at LSU. Les trusts him enough to stay out of his way. Look out for Harris

So tDecline can be contagious?
Is LSU just a carrier of tDecline? Has LSU now spread the disease to Bama?
When can a team be cured of tDecline and recover to be on tRise?

The real question is, which one can kick the hardest?
I should imagine whichever one you try to teabag your tiny little scrotum over, you Skoal Drool Detergent Head.

Had Harris not been an EE, definitely Jennings. Summer and fall camp will determine the starter, but I'd say Harris has a slight edge and higher upside

The starting QB job is Jennings's to lose. That said, Jennings has been losing it to Harris and a poor to mediocre summer practice from Jennings could wind up bumping Harris to the top of the depth chart.

The LSU 2011 team with RP at quarterback is one of the biggest "what might have beens" in SEC history. Solid at every position, and spectacular in a bunch. If the kid hadn't been a knucklehead we might be talking about that team in the same breath as '95 Huskers and '01 Canes.

That's kind of how I see it. It's Jennings if he can hold Harris off. But it's looking like he may not be able to do that. And Les is deferring to Cameron on this.
If you read about how he's gone about improving Harris's game and how fast that's happened, you have to realize that Harris is the real deal. Plus Harris went out to San Diego to get some QB Whisperer time in and I don't think Jennings did that. That guy is a protege of Cameron's and he's high on Harris as well. Cameron wants him to work with his son so he obviously values his opinion.
Today I'd say it's a coin flip. Summer practice will determine the winner.

He was a JR in 2008, he would not have been on the 2011 team.

but I feel like Miles was stubbornly wedded to Jefferson when it became painfully obvious at some point in the 2009 season that he needed to be pulled at many times. I was ecstatic when he got suspended from the team going into the 2011 season. No way LSU goes undefeated in 2011 with Jefferson running the show. I was all in for Lee starting going into the 2011 season, personally, and I think the results bore out that he deserved the spot over Jefferson, but he'd have never gotten it had it not been for JJ's off the field issues.
JJ had the best first year start for a non senior LSU QB since Tommy Hodson. He also did it with a horrible offensive line, and a run game that accumulated 1503 yards and 14 TDs total. In 12 games he had nearly 2200 passing yards, 170 rushing yards, and 18 total TDs with only 7 picks. He was the #2 QB in the Redzone in the nation and had a 61.5 cmp percentage.
You definitely don't know what you are talking about. At best in 2011, Lee managed the game. Total offense rose the second Jefferson got meaningful snaps during games. We could not run or pass the first half against UGA, you are placing that blame solely on Jefferson? In case you forgot, the two bad games he had were against the #3 and #1 ranked defenses in the nation. We wore UGA down in the second half, but we could not do it against Bama. Lee would have looked just like he did in 2008, 2009, and 2011 against Bama, very bad.

2008. Our defense was horrible that year though.
I wouldn't count us out every game. I watched the whole 2008 season on rnolan's youtube page earlier this morning. Lee threw 3 ints against UGA which made it nearly impossible to beat that offense (defense staying on the field much too long). He also threw 4 ints against Bama, the last being the last play of the game in overtime.
One pick six against Bama (we had to go into overtime because of this. Two pick sixes against UGA (we lost this game by two TDs). We were getting our arse beat in against Ole Miss best team in a while 21-3 before Lee got knocked out. The game was a 10-10 play from the rest of the way out so obviously the defense came around the second half. Defense did kill us against Arky, but it was only a one point win and JJ was 9/21 143 2 TDs with 50 yards rushing. We were outmatched against Florida plain and simple.
Taking all the losses into account with Perriloux (a would be junior), we would have beaten Bama easily, squeaked by UGA (3-7pt win), beaten Arky by a close margin, and at least challenged Ole Miss. I'd give us a 9-3 record at worst, 10-2 at best had we had Perriloux.
I also watched the 2009 season today, and Perriloux would have still had a horrible offensive line and run game in 2009. Thing is, our losses were so close and controversial in 2009, he could have probably finished with an 11-1 or undefeated regular season.
IMO, Perriloux set this program back 4 years.

I'm curious if Miles will have Jennings on a short leash considering all the reports that are praising Harris
They always praise the new guy. BTW, I think Jennings will do well. Go look up Darron Thomas. He is the QB that he reminds me of. He's not flashy, but he can run good enough, and sell the play action like nobody else. His first year starting (redshirt sophomore), he passed for 2881 yards (8.0 ypa) and 30 TDs to 9 ints, and ran for 486 yards (5.2 ypc) and 5 TDs. While I don't think Jennings gets anywhere near that, I do see 2600+ total yards and 20 total TDs if he plays the whole season. Hopefully the int problem was taken care of. I really still believe this kid has what it takes to be a great LSU QB.

LSU will play the QB who is less prone to making mistakes. Probably start with Jennings and see where it goes.
