Agreed. It made for a lot of fun for me on the square though so I hope we make it again.

IRL it seems like we have more obsessed, as far as the board goes it's pretty even with 2-3 on both sides.
I'll give you that, but anyone posting on the cesspool that is 1334 dawgz is beyond obsessed. They had a 10 page thread on our game for fricks sake.

I really didn't care. Them losing didn't erase our shitty season. That to me, is the difference.
You lying little bitch. Too bad there's not a thunderstorm in your area.

baseball doesn't really stir my emotions
It does to a certain extent with me but that was mainly because of the OMAHA stuff that had been going on the last decade or so. Now that that's over I won't be as emotionally involved unless we get to Omaha again.

I didn't go out of my way to even watch the TV games till after the SEC tournament. Football and basketball are different.

quote:It hasn't to me either. I do have a sister and a couple of OM friends posting shite on FB that has got on my nerves as of late but in the past, I have never given a shite. Football is a little different, due to recruiting and such. Basketball, we've always dominated in my lifetime and pretty much have got the picks of the litter.
baseball doesn't really stir my emotions, just something i enjoy watching with a cold brew in the summer. in general though, the older i get the more apathetic i'm getting towards sports.

last couple years or so i've been more meh than excited or mad about anything. maybe that's a good thing, i dunno.

I like OM baseball nearly as much as football. I have been very invested in it over the years.

It's like when the Saints won the Super Bowl. My family are such-long term Saints fans. That whole run was really emotional, especially for my dad. The Saints could go the rest of my life without having a winning season and I don't think I'd be upset because one time, they delivered.
ETA: That's how I feel about making it to Omaha.

Neither school ever really gives a shite about basketball. We only care about baseball because we are both good at it. Otherwise no one would care.

Yep sounds like me and my family. Especially the Dad part. When things go bad for our teams the last few years... we always say "heyyyy, the SAINTS WON THE SUPER BOWL" Who cares about anything else.

you nailed it
I feel like that win was the pinnacle of my fan hood and I saw it in fricking high school. It kinda sucks when I think about it. Closest thing to that would be State winning in Atlanta.

I really hope this changes. Basketball is my favorite collegiate sport. I'm hoping the new arena paired with our decent past two seasons will spark something.

Holy shat I'm striking your nerves tonight. My bad bruh. Try not to let the Cavs defeat eat you up too much.
Also, like I already said. I've been to that site 1 time and it was 8-10 months ago. Maybe you need to stay off that site, since you seem so upset.

Only Ole Miss football winning could top that moment. I still take it very seriously.
It's funny cause my mom takes the Saints even more seriously now so every time a negative play happens, she has to leave the room for a minute. And she is furious over like a week 4 loss.
