Missouri - Washington University
Arkansas - Hendrix
Louisiana - Tulane
Mississippi - Millsaps
Alabama - University of Alabama
Georgia - Georgia Tech
Tennessee - Vanderbilt
Florida - University of Florida
South Carolina - Wofford
Kentucky - Centre
Texas - Rice
Just need some help with a project. Need input from people who live in these states. I've bolded the ones that are probably not debatable.
ETA: Thanks board. Got what I needed.

you seem to be forgetting texas. and its rice

Texas is not an SEC state, but they have an SEC school in-state, so they should be listed. For Texas, I would say Rice.

UAB's medical school is the best in AL.

Nice troll thread.
Not trying to troll, outside of Vandy and maybe UGA, there isn't an SEC school in the mix for best academic institution in their respective states.

UGA is no where close to Emory. UA and AU are both close to the best schools in Alabama, if not the best.

Its a good school. I've known several who have played sports there and have done really well in life with a degree from there. My boss is a Millsaps grad.

Kentucky - ???
Centre College, per Forbes (80).
UK, by comparison is 257 and Louisville is 445.

Kentucky would likely be Berea College. Maybe Centre College.
South Carolina. I have no idea but College of Charleston or Presbyterian may be up there as well.
Georgia- I would think Emory much more than Berry. And TBH Ga Tech and UGA would probably be considered above both of those overall.
Florida- New College (Isn't that that new Honors College?) MIami may be tops after that. UF would certainly be up there.

Moronic. BSC is by far the best school in Alabama. Unfortunately they also have the worst location in Alabama, but academically, they are on par with Millsaps, Rhodes, Washington, et. al.

I don't think that's right. Feel free to back it up.
World report has them at 115 and UA at 86, AU at 91.
