Auburn could win them all or lose 4, neither would suprise me.
First off, injuries can kill a promising season(i.e. georgia and florida). Lawson's injury (if season-ending) will definitely hurt and Auburn doesn't have the depth in defense to lose any key players.
Second, team chemistry. Obviously we had it last year. Can we duplicate that?
Third, schedule. The climb to the top this year will be tough. MSU at starkvegas - After an emotional LSU game, especially if we win, that MSU game could be tough. Same thing sets up with USCe and OM. We end it with GA and bama away. We used to play tough in Stanford and Bryant Denny. This will be Gus's first trip as head coach to both, so looking back at last year, we shite-the-bed at LSU away and pulled one out at A&M away. I could see winning both/splitting games/or losing both, really I have no idea.
I think the SEC is difficult to predict this season.
Just a wild-arse-guess. I'll say 11-1. Could be Merlin's signature win that he's be waiting for.

Eh - more of a gut feeling than anything else. I certainly wouldn't base it off of anything that I've seen - on the field, against each other, I'd call an UGA/Ole Miss matchup a toss up as well.

Talk of past indicators aside not one person mentioned anything specific to this years South Carolina team that should make it be considered a tossup. I agree that Spurrier is a great coach, but what about THIS USC team makes them considered a "tossup" game?
I never said they had no chance, never said I wasn't the least bit worried about them but the word "tossup" has the connotations of a pick em' game and I just don't see it.
What's your point? Have you given any indicators that it shouldn't be?
That said - they had the #12 scoring defense in the country. They've pulled in their greatest stock of talent in the previous recruiting class than they ever had before (from a rankings stand point). USC with Spurrier has managed to do more with less than just about anyone.
Think of it as a "they have enough D to stop Auburn just enough, and enough O to where Auburn will really need to have improved on defense".

Present indicators give Au a win.

The SC game will more than likely be one of the toughest games for AU this season IMO so if call it a toss up as well.

I agree with their strong defensive ranking being a potential problem for us. The quote above shouldn't be used though - their history isn't exactly stellar so their best doesn't necessarily indicate that it's an advantage over Auburn. I do not view this as a "toss up" as I still think we'll be a little better, overall.

If we beat LSU no way we are losing to South Carolina.

As much as I would love to say:
I'm going to say that AU should be the favorite to win the SEC. They return likely the best o-line, a playmaking QB, a solid group of RBs, a top 5 SEC WR, and what should be an improved defense.
If AU wins less than 10 games I would be surprised.

Ole Miss is my darkhorse candidate to win the West this year, so i can't really say that I disagree.
On the surface, things look troubling for my Dawgs. We have had a bunch of high profile transfers and players kicked off the team.
But I am encouraged about this year. We have as much talent as pretty much anybody in the country - we won't lose any games because we are facing someone that is just flat better, bigger or stronger than us.
Pruitt was a winner at Hoover (where I live) at Bama and at FSU
The guy just flat gets it done, and the idea of simplifying the defense really excites me about what we may see this year.
Ole Miss - I think they will be a tough 2nd tier SEC program (hanging around # 3 or 4 in the West) as long as Freeze is around AND that every 3 - 5 years they will frick up and scare some people / challenge for the West

See this everywhere also, can't really think of more than one lucky play. You know.... The kind of play that doesn't invole any strategic decisions by the coaching staff or no freakish player skill to pull it off. That's a lucky play.

I actually agree with arguable the weakest SEC champ part. However, they were better than the rest of the SEC when I counted. Their record.
