I vote Legion Field. After you make your way through the barren outskirts of Birmingham and fend off any rabid coin collectors along the way, you come upon Legion Field, where stone lions ominously look on as you enter the crumbling stadium where legends once stood.

This is a very scary place after dark for anyone and you best have the proper tools and wits to get out unscathed.

Rickwood Field. On top of looking like it's haunted, it's in the hood

ETA: Legion Field isn't really that bad... it's pretty much a straight shot to the interstate

If you're scared to go to legion field then you really need to get out of the burbs more, Larry.

For all the grief Legion Field gets, once you are in the stadium it is actually a great atmosphere. I grew up going to big Alabama games there and the structure itself (83,000+) makes it an insanely loud stadium. It's basically War Memorial Stadium with 30,000 more seats. Very loud stadium acoustically.

Personal experience, WBS is like the Georgia Dome. If you decide to venture too far away from the stadium, you're at risk of being the victim of a felony crime. They've done a nice job at updating the immediate surrounding areas for tailgating, but the stadium is in tucked in odd place.

cotton bowl aint fun if you venture too far.

but that can be said for a lot of stadiums. the independence bowl, for all the crap it gets, actually does a fantastic job in regards to fan experience (it helps the local lsu fans tailgate for it no matter who is playing). BUT, go a little north of I20 and

Vaught Hemingway - only because I literally didn't think the stadium's structure was going to hold up during the game.

The Independence Bowl was in a pretty sketchy part of town. I guess that gets my vote.

Legion Field is not a scary place to visit. Not to mention you posted a very old pic of the stadium. It doesn't have either upper deck anymore.

I actually have very fond memories of Legion Field. I grew up going to games there. A lot of Bama's most storied games happened there...many epic Iron Bowls and TSIOs. I remember it it when it was a much different place.

Having said that I went to one of the last games Bama played there and the stadium was in bad shape. One of the girls we were with got her purse snatched and our car got broken into.....not the first time that happened either.
