Cooper is already a first rounder on several mock drafts.
I've seen him predicted to go top 5 on a couple of them. Excellent player.

Todd Gurley has missed 3 games due to injury.

Shane Ray and especially Markus Golden are way too low. Mizzou is the Rodney Dangerfield of CFB. Dante Fowler needs to actually be worth a shite at some point.

Todd Gurley has 3 more career carries than Yeldon
so youre telling me the 7th best player in the nation had 3 less carries and identical stats to an injured player that apparently missed 3 games... in an almost identical Offense

thats 1/4 of a season...
thats a lot in terms of stats (about 400 yds i believe given his talent)

That's why the YPC stat was invented.

He was also running hobbled in a good 1/3 of his games this season. He wasn't a full strength for most of the season. Yeldon also got to run behind some pretty beast OL in the previous 2 seasons. I'm not saying Yeldon is bad but I think even most Bama fans would take Gurley over Yeldon.

69. Kentucky DL Alvin Dupree: The rising senior recorded seven sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss and forced a pair of fumbles last season.
Probably a little too low now that he has some help/depth on the line. But not bad.

But in terms of his career, it is not. Which is why the notion that OMG GURLEY MISSES SO MANY GAMES is ridiculous.
He missed no games his freshman year and 3 last year on a freak injury when his ankle was rolled up on. It's not like the guy is carrying nagging muscle injuries around or has been tearing acl's left and right.

Gurley faced better defenses too.

Sums it up. This list is as useful as a pre-season top 25.

Yes, he's the starter.

While I am perfectly happy to have Yeldon over Gurley, I don't dispute the notion that most would take Gurley over Yeldon. I was merely making the comparison between the two becuase of the hate that Yeldon is getting. He is almost statistically identical (say what you will about OL play) to what most regard as the best RB in the nation.

I'm not saying that Yeldon is a better (or even equal) player, but they do have a similar number of carries, a similar number of touchdowns, a similar number of yardage, and virtually identical yards per carry.

but thats what this ranking is all about... its not just stats its potential in terms of talent...
yeldons potential(according to even most bama fans) isnt as good as Henry or drake yet he is the 7th best player in the country...

Yeldon can potentially become Alabama's all-time career rushing leader in his junior season. It took Shaun Alexander four seasons to amass the yardage to beat out Bobby Humphrey's old record. Yeldon is poised to do it in three.
Henry, despite his performance in the Sugar Bowl, is still an unknown variable. Drake has established himself as a good football player but if he doesn't do it right off the field he will not see the field in 2014.
