“I think the reality for us is A&M made a choice they felt was best for them to move to the SEC ... So, unless there is a really compelling business or branding reason, I see a hard time renewing that rivalry in football." --longhorn ad

"Charlie Strong said the recruit asked him for the Manziel pose ...."

In fairness, the OU rivalry had been the more heated of the two in recent years but there is no denying that the A&M game was special.

So they're lying to you or too young to have an opinion that counts.

dubya42, I apologize that wasn't fair to you. You seem like a cool guy and I don't want to run you off if you want to continue to contribute in a positive manor.

The point I brought up was almost rhetorical. Us Aggies knew exactly why Longhorns would say that we weren't the "real" rival- pure unbridled arrogance. Hence me bringing it up now.

To any Aggie there is nothing sweeter than taking all those arrogant statements from the 00's ("We're Texas" "not the real rival" "We didn't start this, but if we need to finish, we'll finish it," etc.) and throwing them back in t-sip faces now that we are the program with the momentum.

You obviously are not a classic arrogant Texas fan, and you deserved better than that. Sorry again.

With that said, I hope our two teams never play regularly again. The inferiority and superiority complexes on both sides need to die first, and that might take 40 years.

Nice, now George Whitfield goes on ESPN and tears Bedford a new one:

“I understand [Bedford] has an opinion. I’m just surprised he has time to tweet about it given the Longhorns task at hand with their defense.”

Really didn't think that one through, coach...

Shots fired by Whitfield. Guess he won't be instructing any of their 2A QBs

Its not a dis. Its just another example of how a certain program is having a little difficulty in moving on

I dont think it would have been a dis until he said "now lets see if he can learn to play QB".

It was a dis; otherwise, he wouldn't have felt a need to clarify himself.
They're uncomfortable on the 40 acres, to say the least.
shite has gotten real, and they're dying for some sort of spotlight.
Anything.

The dude wasn't asked a question about Manziel at a press conference. This was just another unsolicited comment (via twitter) from the longhorn coaches about A&M, the list is growing...

dubya 42...it will come back at some point..it's INEVITABLE. I'd say 10-15 years.

...I think the thing that rankles many of us is the way that ut tried to eviscerate A&M (in the press)for doing what they tried to do 2-3 times. (change Conferences)
