Gus is a master troll. He could have put 70 up on FSU but decided to
the SEC.

I'm surprised this has not gotten more discussion. They killed the streak.

And to think, LSU was the only team good enough to beat us.

Yes, and also the team that starts the new reign.

It really is amazing how easily we have collectively let AU off the hook for this. If this had been Bama or LSU the sky would have fallen. I think it is mostly due to the guilt of allowing an above average team sneak their way through the conference schedule into the national title game.

Although the streak continued LSU was the first SEC team to choke away the BCS.

And if LSU had won Bama would be in that seat. Either way an SEC team was going to lose.
Auburn on the other and just flat out choked it away to the worst big conference in CFB.

Florida State was pretty damn good in 2013. Better than Notre Dame of 2012, Oregon of 2010, Texas of 2009, and so forth. For me, they were the best BCS contender not in the SEC in a while.

I guess LSU shouldn't have choked away those 3 games they lost.

But they didn't break the streak, which is what this thread is about.

LSU's atrocious performance in that game may have done more to damage the SEC than AU losing to FSU. Most people watching the 2011 title game came away with the impression that the SEC is slow, boring, overrated, and lacking in QB skill.

Was Arky anywhere near helping the streak continue? I seem to remember y'all blowing your only BCS bowl game against the buckeyes.

Hating on LSU again

If the SEC had to depend on Arkansas, the streak would have never existed in the first place

That and the only team who won a NC with a player who should have been ineligible to play. And that championship will never be vacated due to the NCAA interpolating their own rules. Meanwhile A.J. Green sits out 4 games for selling a damn jersey.

The fact AU was a 9 point dog has a lot to do with it... had AU been the heavy favorite, I could see the ending the streak comments.
