YPC has nothing to do with pace of play and everything to do with how well, you know, we run the ball.

But no mention of Auburn's running backs or O-line? WTF is this shite?
in all fairness, our RB's are somewhat unproven at this point

quote:This may confuse you but I will try and explain it: the four teams I listed have better running backs than Auburn does in my opinion, but due to the fact Auburn has a badass offensive line and a great system and coach for running the ball, their running game will be better. You get it now? or am i going to get another because you are slow?
Are you saying LSUs RBs are more talented but will be overshadowed by AUs gaudy numbers thus proving that LSU must be inferior???

You have to think they're probably more proven than fricking West Virginia's, who probably no one outside of WV could name without looking at a roster.

I must be slow then...
Granted i know its your opinion but AU is known for its RBs and this year will be no different. IMO AU has more talent at RB across the board talent alone... period.
UGA
UA/AU/UAr
LSU
dont cry about it you gave your opinion i gave mine...

pace of play
I think can play a huge factor in how well you run the ball. Obviously HUNH teams are in the minority, and the speed at which the offense operates is much more likely to tire out opposing defenses, making rushing later in the game definitively easier.

But AU was #1 in rushing yards and only #6th in plays per game.

Damn, looks like Bama will face the best crew of RBs they'll see all season in the 1st game.

AU ran 86 more plays than USCe in 2013 but outgained them by nearly 1200 yards.
That is not pace of play, that is domination.

quote:Agreed. I will put the point I made earlier into an individual scenario: I think Hill was better than Mason last year as his yards per attempt was 1.2 yards greater(over a yard is alot), but Mason had a better season due to the system he was in. Now bash away

Tre Mason ran for 1,000 yards with Scot LOLOLoeffler as offensive coordinator. He wasn't a system running back.

Not including Auburn's O-Line is, agreed, a joke.
As for your Running Backs, I would imagine that Tre Mason's declaration for the draft plays no small part in that. As good as Grant and Payne are, they were non-factors against FSU, Georgia and Alabama - three games where you either won in very close matchups, or lost by just a smidge. Take out Marshall as well, because this isn't a debate of "backfields" but of running backs, and he's not one.
62.8% of your rushing yards came from either the QB, or a RB who's leaving.
You're not PRESENTLY in the discussion because of Tre leaving; if he was staying, you'd have a VERY strong case as the best. As it stands, you might have the best at the end of the year, but nothing backs up that claim presently.

He wasn't a system running back.

Well, that's reasonable.
