And they have yet to match what even Houston Nutt did at Ole Miss his first two years. Well at least they have that endowment of theirs.
Don't forget that he only did what Houston did with Ole Miss while having the best player of the decade on his team. Guess that's worth 5 million a year when he's not going to have that. Its entirely feasible that A&M will be paying a million dollars per win next season.

We're loud and stupid and confident. It was a joke. Sorry I confused you.

Sorry. I just got through a 2 hour lift. I'm out of it.

Just curious...What do you think would happen if the NCAA decided that 1/4 of being qualified for the postseason was the graduation rate?

Team graduation rate or school?

Makes a huge difference. Teams already get penalized for their graduation rate.

Good question. I would assume team. Imagine how important academics would become if that was part of what determined postseason play.
(Though it would also open up abuse of that as well.)

I think both schools are pretty good. MSU has a good engineering program and Ole Miss has a top accounting school. Not to mention Ole Miss has a medical school.

Question would be does it count with players declaring early.

Abuse already occurs. Colleges already have pre-fabricated courses that athletes can take, designed to provide them with easy As.
I say, athletes should be required to state a major, and teams should reflect the general student population in terms of majors.
For example, if 70 percent of the general student population is enrolled in the college of Arts and Sciences, I expect to see a similar makeup of the athletic population.

Honest answer is ole miss. Suck
at all 3 sports and just as bad at academics as MSU. At least we have baseball

Rankings are mostly determined by money and politics. I sincerely doubt that many of the schools listed above MSU in those departments are any better. MSU's vet school has been regarded among the best in the country for over 3 decades, same with forestry.
MSU has also been a pioneering school in aerospace engineering. The first composite aircraft ever made, was designed, built, and first flown at MSU's school of aerospace engineering, in the early '60s. MSU also, in conjunction with Honda, built the first prototype Honda jet in the late '80s. This was done at MSU's Raspet flight laboratory. Now the Honda jet is fully FAA certified and being produced for the Very Light Jet (VLJ) market. MSU also has one of, if not the largest autoclave in the country at it's aerospace school. Institutions come from everywhere to conduct testing and experimentation at the Raspet flight lab at MSU.
So what has your school done?
