Meh, you all bore me. The fun was gone as soon as I learned Rickdaddy is banned. I only wanted to watch his backpeddle. That's something Saban isn't good at teaching, and we can always use some good DB's.
I'm off to more entertaining forums. The offseason sucks. I don't like baseball and my basketball team was done before the season started.

Obviously he was hurt last year and we never saw the same player from his fr year. As long as healthy he should have a breakout year and off to the NFL

We get it, Bama fans are insecure.

what would a barner know about NFL receivers?

He's quick, but he's not the quickest. You can't rely on Bama's pro day #'s.
Do you need someone to pat you on the back and tell you Cooper is good? Because he is.

What is "Elite Speed"
I don't know but is it really that important? From what I've seen of the NFL game the DB's are the fastest guys on the field. Can the WR's run hard cuts smoothly, accelerate when needed, make 'NFL' catches that are considered spectacular at the college level but the expected norm at the next?

Nobody knows...I remember Gary Danielson saying in the 2012 SECCG that he had "top-end speed" after he beat UGA deep but maybe that's not the same thing...I have noticed he tends to get behind the defense on long patterns but that's not necessarily due to speed alone...
If those hand-held times are accurate, I'd expect him to run in either the high 4.3's or low-to-mid 4.4's with the laser timing. But we won't know definitively until then...every one thought Norwood would run in the 4.5 to 4.6 range, so maybe Cooper will prove faster than he's thought to be...
I think that 40 times are overrated any way...I've always thought it'd measure football speed better if they ran the 40 with their pads on...a lot of the 40 is based on technique and much of technique is hard to maintain when you're running in a full set of pads...never saw a WR running a pass pattern in track gear on game day...

He was clocked sub 4.4 in three tries at 6 ft 1 204.
People didn't think Julio Jones was fast either but he sure ran off from the entire LSU secondary on a certain quick screen pass

Have no idea if his measurable speed is elite or not.
All I know is that with pads on his speed is pretty damned elite.

What exactly were you trying to accomplish with this thread, OP?

Amari Cooper is white?

DF = Marcus Allen (not white either)

He's deceptively fast, not a "high motor" guy.

Elite speed is laser timed under 4.4
