I don't think Arky fans will continue to defend him with another 3-9 (0-8 SEC) type of season in 2014. Even Johnelle Smith had 2 SEC wins in a season.

Or will they still defend him with "3 straight Rose Bowl appearances" argument? Other B1G teams were on post season ban btw.

I think they go 0-8 again, but it's not Bert's fault. He needs more time to implement his system.

His seat is always hot because of his dangerous weight problem.

they have a hard schedule this year too. they will be calling for Malzahn to come home by the end of the season and you can bookmark that.

agreed. he needs more time to get his players in and also to implement his pro-style offense.

Hopefully Bert will discover a new disease each year to place blame on until his buyout is reasonable .

Not on hot seat now, but spontaneous combustion following this season's 0-1 win SEC record.

honest question, what is the huge talent gap difference between the pro-style that Petrino ran just two years ago and the pro-style that Bert wants to implement?

I get that he likes bigger backs but the line should be reasonably similar and coaching/strength and conditioning should be able to remold the line to fit schemes. Petrino had good sized receivers that could block but when he leaves so does all the talent? I'm not getting the huge talent gap that keeps getting brought up that causes them to shite the bed like they did last year. At least Auburn fully admitted that our team were a bunch of whiney crybaby quitters in 2012 under Chizik and it wasn't a talent thing.

Mizz-SEC, you speak like one who has experience in such matters.

In theory, maybe. But in reality there is going to be a night and day difference in the Petrino lines and the Bielema lines. Bigger, stronger - more capable of being 'road graders' than primarily concerned with protecting the passer. They will be able to pass block as well though.

Petrino left no talent behind. Especially on defense. That's why we were picked last in the west before last season started.
