Again? Seems like they just lost their first game of the season a few days ago as well.

Vanderbilt baseball did not make it to Omaha last year.

Won 2 out of 3 though. The pitcher that shut them down is an All-American.

Once they announced who we had replaced Hofstra with on the schedule and what they had coming back, I thought it was a pretty good chance we would drop one. Should be an easy top 50 RPI team this year given that they finished with an RPI of 55 last year and bring back all 8 position players, their ace, and 20 guys total with a ton of experience.

That team is going to be hell on wheels in someone's regional. At least for one game.

I really didn't see Woodruff's struggle in the opener though...

Where did you find that at? Best thing in his Bio was this.

Named second team All-Southern Conference as a starting pitcher

To be so smart and dumb at the same time is amazing.

Keep trying Vandy fans.

I'm guessing he was being sarcastic.

They also returned eight position players from a team that finished with an RPI of 55. It's disappointing no doubt, but I'll reserve my judgement of the baseball team until after the first series.

As you should. It's fricking baseball. There will be unexpected and stupid losses. Other teams will have them as well. It's only being talked about on this retard site...

He's not all american...but the guy Western Carolina put out there is a draftable guy. 6'8, throws up to 93 and has a good slider.

Preseason So-Con pitcher of the year, was a 37th rounder in highschool. I don't know where people are getting preseason All-American from -- but trust me after seeing him -- it would surprise zero Mississippi State fans if he ends up as one after this season.

His off speed stuff has MLB movement -- and he had MLB control against us. Totally dominant. That said, if Woodruff doesn't shite the bed in the first with his control, it's still a good chance we win that game in the 9th.

Maybe this is the year he will move up to the #1 pitcher in his conference.
