Is Gus Malzahn the founding father of HUNH?

not sure what to think of this article... if it's true, then Saban is really looking like a sandy vag in this move.
The whole world, at least that part of it consumed by college football, waits to hear from Gus Malzahn on the ill-advised, short-sighted and somewhat underhanded hurry-up-and-wait NCAA rule proposal on when an offense can snap the ball.
After all, Malzahn is the founding father of the HUNH, his version of the hurry-up no-huddle offense that’s all the rage these days, and the proposal looks, feels and smells like an attempt to slow down him and his fellow travelers in the fast lane.
The Auburn coach will speak on the subject at some point, and whatever he says about it will become national news.

ok...just curious. Can't stand HUNH so wasn't interested enough to research it.

Rich Rod was the pioneer. Gus's version is one of the most effective.

I would, however, go as far as to say he is probably the most popular head coach running the HUNH in college football right now. Due to on-the-field success, he has been in the media more than Mike Leach, Kevin Sumlin, Art Briles, Mike Gundy, etc... as of late.

I believe Frank Broyles wrote about having to prepare for it, or an early form of it, back when he was an assistant at Baylor in the late 40's. Can't recall (but could go back and look it up, I have the book) who the team it was they were preparing for.

All Malzahn does is run a high school offense, so there is no need for SEC teams to worry about the HUNH.
His offense will quickly be exposed as ineffective, and his gimmicky, flavor of the month "offense" will become but a small footnote in college football lore.

No, Heinz Guderian is, and the Germans, as they always do, had a much better word for it: "Blitzkrieg".
Back then, just like now, the media and other leading figures blasted him for it about how it was unfair and tried to ban it and what not.

Sumlin has been far more of a media darling than Gus. There is a world outside of Birmingham.

I think Gus, if he is smart wont say a damn thing. Saban looks bad in this deal so far, and Gus saying much of anything just takes that light away.
