Agreed, met at best. Obviously this weekend was an encouraging run and that actually exceeded my expectations given how we ended the regular season. As a whole though I wouldn't say we exceeded expectations. Plenty of good things to build on with still a fairly young team and, as always, plenty of things to work on. Next year should be much better. I think it's fair to expect to host a regional and finish in the top 4 of the league. Basically be a national competitor.

I think they met them as a whole. The early season success and late season collapse make it a strange year. I thought they could win 40 games and they came close at 37-24. I expect a lot more in 2015.

That's how I feel and it's really disappointing to not win our regional after FSU was eliminated.

My sentiments as well. No offense to KSU, but it's pretty bad to lose twice to them in a weekend and score two total runs.
Like I said earlier though, the future is bright. Howard and Avant are two exceptional athletes that can hit the pill. They should really bolster the lineup so guys like Webb aren't at the dish with RISP

I think we had a good season. At the beginning our goal was to host a regional(which we did not) but I thought we finished the season well. After losing the first game, I thought we had given up. I was really impressed that we came back and played that well. I will not complain when we get to a regional because you never know what will happen. Florida was the number 2 national seed and lost their regional. I think we should be better next year. Sometime today or tomorrow I am going to post a projected lineup for next year.

The first year MLB player draft starts Thursday. Underclassmen have until July 18th to sign or announce that they'll be back in school. We'll have some big ones. We only had three seniors on the squad this year (Austen Smith, Tucker Hawley, Steven Cole) so they're obviously gone. Smith will probably be a mid-round pick but that's probably it from that group.
As for the juniors, Spencer Turnbull is certainly gone and I expect Wade Wass will be as well. Justin Kamplain and Ben Moore will have decisions to make. I think Ben Moore's draft stock would benefit from another year in school, but you can't blame those 50/50 guys for wanting to get a head start in the minor league system. Kamplain also has a tough choice. He could be one of the top returning starters in the league next year, but he also doesn't have typical major league caliber stuff. Unless they're sure-fire 1st rounders, a pitcher's draft stock typically lowers each year because teams like to draft them as young as possible to have them in their systems where they can coach and develop them. It'll be interesting to see if he opts for that route as well. Again, couldn't really blame him if so. I suspect he will be back though. It's not as much draft related, but it'll be interesting to see if Keller is back next year too. Just seems like there's more to that story.

Hopefully for his sake it doesn't, but yea that was abysmal. He carried us for awhile this weekend, but that AB, and the one with the bases loaded earlier, left a lot to be desired.

Looks pretty good to me. Only thing I'd say is that I really don't expect Wass back. But as you said Haynie is a very good defensive catcher, hopefully he'll improve some offensively from his freshman year. We also have a couple of catching prospects coming in, hopefully at least one of them will prove to be capable to help share the load some. If nothing else we should be deeper next year, which wouldn't be saying much. I think every starter having to play every game, including the midweek games, probably wore some guys down this season.
Pitching staff has a chance to be really, really good. Bullpen could be dominant if Burrows duplicates his year and Castillo gets back his freshman form now that we won't be screwing around with trying to make him a starter. If Keller is his old self, a weekend rotation of Kamplain-Keller-Bramblett would be one of the best in the league. While I think they'll both be back, I don't think it's a given yet that Kamplain and Keller will both be with the squad though. Eicholtz improving, Guilbeau perhaps turning a corner Sunday, and even Oczypok if he comes back healthy are all guys already on roster who could all provide depth and other starting options. A lot will just depend on the improvement everybody makes, and whether or not anybody takes a step back like Castillo did, but next year's staff could be more dominant than this one was early on.
