Why would White hit anything besides 1st-3rd?

I've seen projections for Kamplain, Wass, Moore, Avant, and Howard going in the 6-8 round range.

If all those guys are at bama next year we can make a serious run. If none of them are at bama next year...we fuct

He's not really a better hitter than avant, Salem, and Moore and he's not as fast as any of those guys either.

White has to be faster than Ben Moore, right?

I doubt it. Moore is a better hitter than white though IMO and is really suited for the 3 hole.

I haven't seen any projections, but I'm surprised to see Kamplain projected that highly. I thought he'd be back but if he goes in that range that would be hard to pass up. Same with Moore and I think that round 6-8 range sounds about right for him. As long as Wass doesn't drop to say the second half of the draft for some unforeseen reason, I again think he's all but gone already.

Haynie just Tweeted at Keller something along the lines of 'praying for your surgery tomorrow.' That's kinda vague obviously, but perhaps Keller's injury was something that requires some more attention. We were wondering if there was more to that story, perhaps all it is is that the injury was slightly more serious than reported. That would be a good sign for him returning next year.

ETA: He apparently has some bone chips that they're removing. Fortunately not a major injury or something that eventually leads to one, but makes a lot more sense now as to why he wasn't available much down the stretch.

Spencer Turnbull drafted in the 2nd round by Detroit, 63rd overall. He should be a solid pro, has great stuff just has to develop better command.

Matt Morgan, one of our signees and a catching prospect, just got drafted in the 4th round by Toronto at #114 overall. We'll have to watch to see if he makes it to campus. I believe July 18th is the deadline for high schoolers and underclassmen to sign.

ETA: I'm late

Ben Moore to the Red Sox, final pick of the 8th round and 254th overall. Actually drafted and projected as a catcher. His decision to stay or go will be an interesting one to watch. I think it's 50/50.

That's actually it for day two, rounds 11-40 are tomorrow. Surprised Kamplain is still on the board, but at this point you have to start to like our chances of having him back next year. Wass still on the board as well, but I still expect he'll sign. I don't know anything about Morgan or any of the signees, but Morgan is almost assuredly the only one we could possibly lose with nobody else going in the top ten rounds.

Ben Moore will sign with the the Red Sox. Can't link the article on my phone, but he's gone. He'll leave a big hole to fill in the middle of the lineup. He's the first to announce officially, but we all know Turnbull is gone too. Assuming Wass follows suit, we'll have a lot of pop to replace in the lineup. Kamplain is the one to watch, getting him back is critical for next season.

Dang, rough day two for us. Certainly hoped we'd hold on to him or Moore or both, but the fact that they're signing is not all that surprising though. Kamplain would be the real punch in the gut...

Kamplain is our first player off the board today, but not until the 18th round to the Yankees with the 542nd pick. You have to think he wanted to be drafted much higher and that he'll likely come back to Alabama, but you never know. Other factors always come into play in baseball. The fact that Wass is still on the board makes you think there's a slight chance he'd be back, but I'd still be shocked.
