Mostly you just hear on here how evil bama is. Well apparently we are the only ones who stood by shaw when he got his major neck injury, ever body else dropped him like a hot potato. We are honoring our offer to him and providing him with a medical scholarship. he will likely never play again.

I feel bad for the kid but I hope he eventually heals and can play again.

I kind of doubt Saban would have been so "generous" if he did not already have the #1 recruiting class in the country sewed up. So I would see it more as him having the luxury of taking a chance on Shaw recovering, a luxury hardly anybody else can afford.

I think I can safely say that Nick Saban never does anything out of the goodness of his heart, if it conflicts with his own self-interest too much (or at all)

This has nothing to do with it. He will never play for us.

A source close to Elisha Shaw told me a few weeks ago only Nick Saban and Tide staff stood by Shaw after injury.

We are fighting to get a medical scholarship for a commitment of ours that had a serious concussion. That said, Bama.

Very cool. I wish these stories were more on the front page of college football. Classy.

Saban probably knows he won't be cleared medically and can cut him but it will make him look better to parents. Its all a recruiting ploy for later on.

He wouldn't need to go through all that.

The scholarship he's getting may be paid for by the athletic dept, but it's not an athletic scholly.

Just fricking be happy for the kid instead of trying to bring petty bullshite into this. (including the OP)
