I think it's nice, but as it's a PR maneuver and was a zero risk move (medical scholarships that Saban has wielded like a surgeon for years don't count towards 85), I don't think it's that noteworthy.

Gene Chizik signed a guy who later was diagnosed with cancer...and then gave him a scholarship the next year, and the next year.

He will be our starting LT this fall.

Yes, mainly because Alabama doesn't usually do something like this.

I've read that the likelihood of him playing again are slim to none, or between a rock and a hard place... Nonetheless, I hope he's able to play again someday, and at very least contribute something to the Alabama football program even if he can't on the football field.

Hey Saban is what he is. If you don't want to hearing the way he is, well tell your fans to stop starting threads pretending he is a great person. But please come back and tell everyone how you believe he didn't have an alternative motive.
