Who is going to take the reins at the QB position? Mason to me is about on the level of a Clint Moseley or Kiehl Frazier. Does he have what it takes to be The Man Dawg fans?

It will be Mason. Look for a lot of Gurley/Marshall runs.

Should get interesting

We'll be fine with Mason. If not, we'll throw a young buck in there. I'm not too worried about it. Shouldn't be that hard to hand off to our stable of running backs 3 out of 4 times.

Mason will be the guy. For good or ill he is it. Whether he'll be a Joe Cox or a DJ Shockley is the big question.
If I had to guess - a bit better than Cox, a bit worse than Shock.

It will 100%, positively, without a doubt be Mason unless he gets hurt in the preseason.

It will be Mason, at least for the first month of the season. If he completely falls on his face, they may hand it over to Brice Ramsey. It would take a total implosion on Mason's part for that to happen, though. Richt loyalty and all that stuff.

Also, a lot of people likely have a bad impression of Mason that is unwarranted. For starters, he shattered state of GA passing records in high school, so it's not like the guy doesn't have talent.
But honestly, most people have 2 career games to judge him on. The first was on the road in his first career start, and he led a 20 point comeback against our biggest rival. The second was in absolutely horrid weather and he threw for like 330 yards in a loss, but anyone who watched the game knows that the loss isn't his fault. Hell, even the last drive he put us where we needed to be and TE dropped the ball.
Mason's biggest problem is inexperience, but an entire year of reps with the 1s will help a lot. Of course, having Gurley/Marshall and the best WR core in the league will help too. Mason won't be as good as Murray, but there's no reason he can't be damn good either. He will surely be better than clint mosely.

This. As for myself, I'm kind of hoping for a slightly more mobile David Green.
As with most QBs, and especially at UGA, the key will be limiting the unforced errors.

Sorry for the cliche, but we're handing him the keys to a Ferrari and telling him not to crash it.

Mason will be it and he will do great. The offense will work at a higher tempo, the way he prefers. Should not be a problem since we can cycle 4 top RB's. IMO he is a better passer just not as good of a field General. The Oline will be very experienced and the WR's and RB's have plenty of talent so he will not have any excuses. Expect to see more screen's to the RBs.

One of these isn't like the others and I'm not talking about race.

I live in & have grown up in Georgia all of my life. What does being an Auburn fan have to do with this. Give your opinion & move on. I'm not trolling. Just tired of basketball threads.

That's impossible.

Translation: He needed OT to beat worthless GT and then lost to Nebraska. If the new DC doesnt get them going fast, he may be throwing a lot of 300 yard games in losses.

If Gurley and Marshall stay healthy then Mason should be fine.

Actually we just needed refs/replay officials to do their job and that wasn't even the 2nd best Auburn team of the last decade.
I suspect Mason will def be better than Cox and def not as good as DJ. I think he'll be asked to be the "game manager" and with the weapons around him I think he's capable of that. If Pruitt is even half as good as he's being touted UGA should win the East next year for sure.
