He will have Malcolm Mitchell and Scott-Wesley back next year. That's a big difference. Not to mention a healthy Gurshall.

The jury is out on Mason. He dink and dunks alot and typically only makes one read before getting happy feet. He dink and dunks like a boss though. :). He also throws to the TE alot which is nice. He needs to work on his progressions and footwork.

I think we're ok in the enunciation/theft categories w/ Mason, Bauta and Ramsey.

He can't make reads worth a damn and locks on to one receiver when others are more than open.

You think that's probably because he has only played in two games? You think Mike Bobo and Mark Richt won't fix that? No, surely all his bad habits will stay the same with a year of reps.

To be fair, he has had 4 years in practice and most thought those kinks should have been ironed out by now. That being said, I have faith that he will do fine even if he dinks and dunks it all day because our running game should be strong as hell.

I guess that makes sense. That being said though all his reps have been limited as the backup.

The dink-dunk has to end.

He needs to complete some highlight reel completions in the first two games to make defenses respect him. Right now they are blitzing the shite out of him, successfully, and playing man out deep because they don't respect his ability. He needs to earn that respect early or he will struggle.

Which means he needs some healthy receivers with speed. I think the dink and dunk were all we had left when JSW went down and Conley got dinged up.

Give him a healthy JSW, Mitchell and maybe one of the noobs (R. Johnson?) and we'll have a shot at a long one. But a good short passer should still be able to kill a blitz.

If the TE will hold onto a ball that hits him in the hands.

He had a few nice passes down the middle but that was about it. The rest was dink and dunk all day. I remain optimistic but I wasn't very happy with his play.

Have you been drinking?

Bennett.

Not when it's his 3rd checkdown.

Designed short passes kill the blitz.... not checkdown passes.

However, you'd think those guys were household names the way they're bantered around by UGA folks, but they're not. They're promising, but largely pedestrian, WRs at this point. And they were getting it tossed to them by the best QB in UGA history.

First off, unless you're AJ or Julio or someone like that, you're not a household name as a college receiver. No team has that many no. 1's. What we do have is a TON of production along with #1 type talent in Malcolm Mitchell, sure handed dependable veterans in Bennett and Conley, and all the potential in the world in Rumph and JSW. Throw in our 2 starting tailbacks, Jay Rome at TE, and Bain/Merritt Hall at FB and you've got yourself an offense that is potent as frick.

Oh yeah, they've broken records the last couple years so it's not like we're going just off of talent and projection here. They've produced.
