Maryland's Counter-Claim
I'd say Count 4 has the most interesting stuff regarding realignment.
However, don't like paragraph 109.
But if you're interested in ACC's position, they seem to have an interest in leaving the conference overall. Interesting, but not sure if it could kick off more realignment.

After reading that, the ACC should be paying UF to replace FSU and drop FSU to the SEC.

Dayum...
"Upon information and belief and as reflected in the ACC's competitive market analysis study, the average U.S. News ranking of conference member institutions of the ACC and the Big Ten is much superior to that of the SEC. Upon information and belief, graduation rates at the SEC member institutions fall well behind the graduation rates for Big Ten and ACC schools. Further, SEC members are more defined by the strength of their emphasis on football programs and include no natural rivalries with Maryland..."

I laugh at paragraph 109. It's basically Maryland's way of attempting to spin the fact that they would be a doormat in nearly every sport if they attempted to join the SEC.

No, it might just change how much they pay. At this point I could see it going either way.
On one hand the ACC could want them to pay to prove that the exit fee has teeth in the post-GOR period. The issue there is- will $50 million even be enough to stop a program in 10 years?
On the other hand, the ACC looks like it is upgrading with UL and they probably want to just move on into the future now that this case will no longer determine the stability of the league.
I think the ACC settles, but in a way that the fee still matters going forward. A "well you got away with it THIS time."

Timeline is wrong on Georgia Tech joining the ACC. They left the SEC before South Carolina left the ACC.

don't like paragraph 109.

Welcome to the one time this decade that Maryland will be discussed on a sports forum...besides "worst uniforms" discussions.

I hope the ACC wins their suit against Maryland. The Herps, Derps, Terps are nobodies. Who gives a shite what they do?
